I've never been a really big fan of the enhanced versions of the Colt. I usually go with the basic round-top, vertical serration versions (series 70, 1991A1's, etc). Anyone have any enhanced customs to change my mind? :P

This is a lightly customized Commander that I picked up at a gun show some years back. It pales in comparison to most of the full house customs I've seen posted here, but it works for me.

The frame has been stippled and reanodized, the sharp edges are gone, beavertail, trigger, safety, hammer have been fitted, and the MSH is flat and stippled to match the front.

I don't know who did the work, but it is all very professional in appearance and I suspect it might have been Ed Mason in Memphis TN.

This one is from a local 'smith. I picked it up a few years ago, finally tracked the smith down and made a trip to his place. He is only doing guns now for LE and previous customers and only part time, more's the pity.

This matched pair built by John Harrison (Gov't and CCO) changed my opinion of S80 E models...

Thanks, gents ... all the credit goes to JB Harrison's creative genius. All I did was hand a couple of ragged E models to the right guy and sign the check.

No way, man. All Colts are beautiful. Yours are no exception.

Here's my work in progress. I got it used a couple of years back. Don't know who did the work. I am thinking NP3 on the frame and having the slide reblued. I need to buy a Colt slide stop to replace the extended one. A good friend of mine fitted and installed the Greider trigger. I really like the way it looks overall.

by Gemini Customs. Grips are Tulipwood by Tony Rist. Hardchrome by Tripp.
Marc did a fabulous job on my Colt.

I didn't buy this pistol with the plan to customize it, but it shot groups way larger than I knew a .38 should shoot. My Dawson front sight is awesome :D but I don't shoot up my stash of hot handloads for it. On this pistol I feel like the "enhanced" features that I find not really desirable are kind of neutralized and it looks pretty damn sharp.
