After I was commisioned to build my first Stainless and Blue set of Colt Deltas for my first customer, my father decided he wanted a set to call his own. Unfortunatly, since he gets the "helping me pay for college super duper price discount" he has to wait a little longer as paying customers get first treatment. I do work on his and my own projects when I can, but they usually sit on the back burner.

I've recently finished the first in the pair...the blued Delta pictured below.

We went with most of the options I offer in the shop at the moment. Dad was standing behind me while I was cutting the serrations on the top and decided to have me stop short of the last outside serrations creating a flat bordered by one last serration. I believe it turned out quite nice. I re-engraved the Delta stamp on the slide, had accu-rails installed, and used all new parts of the highest quality.

It also sports real Ivory grips from Nutmeg sports, staggered borders, Heinie sight on the rear with one of my front sights, a Heinie magwell and Stan Chen mainspring housings. I'm really wishing I had a chance to see Stan's magwell before I put the Heinie on. Nothing wrong with the Heinie, I just think Stan's would have been a better addition in this case.

The "racing stripes" are still startling Bob.
I really like how the finish stands out with your staggered borders.
Are those the "zebra" ivory stocks?

He's had this one done for a little while, and I'm happy though it would be much better if he would complete the set and get that stainless one finished. It started out as a Bright Stainless Delta and it's machined as a sister to the Blued Delta. Esmeralda should be finished with the Ebony panels for the Stainless.

Hopefully Bob will have some pictures to post of the Stainless too.

Now, hopefully the weather will be nice enough to actually put some rounds down range soon.

- Marty
