G~d, I'd seen shots before, but the magwell...
I know everyone says Stan's tops in that department, but, jeez...
I'd have to hang up my gunbelt if I missed a reload with that.

Chuck,

Which Magwell did you use? S&A? or Stan's?

Looks like an S&A--It extends down far enough. Stans are a bit higher cut and more rounded than the Heinie weld on variety.
I'd like to see the touch-ups to blend the top of the MSH to the gripsafety. It's become something I've really come to appreciate in Chuck's work next to his heel blending.
What gets me is the countour on the forward lips for the baseplate--that notch is wide as... well, use whatever random analogy you want depending on how dirty your mind is...
The knife edge face below the sear spring cut (nice and clean btw) is ramper just so and again blended to accomodate the normal spot shere most mag hangs occur.
If I didn't know any better, you'd swear Chuck had the guy reload in front of him to get just the right angles.
Still--a Wilson 29 would be Swimming in that sucker!

Also, Chuck, you do any work to the rear sight?
I liked the Morris on the other pistol, but I like the bevel to this one.
Again, any chance for pics of top rear on the mainspring housing? :)

Hey Chuck...When you golfball the rear of the slide, do you do a couple extra extractors for the future? I'd think it would be hard to match a new one up later???

Chuck,

Your stuff is amazing. Just the right blend of modernism against the classic 1911 backdrop.

Husky,
"do you do a couple extra extractors for the future?"
You betcha I do!
Re-setting to do the spare extractor
takes as much time as doing the entire original rear face of slide and frame.
:?

Unmistakeably a Rogers trademark pistol. A work of art.

Mr. Rodgers, you do the finest work to the 1911 platform that I've ever seen in my life. Congrats on a job VERY well done, and keep up the spectacular work!

Chuck that is an amazing build...every detail is stunning. Magwell is a Steve Morrison piece?
What finish is that...the dark slate gray color looks great!

That is a Smith and Alexander mag well that has been modified.
The finish is a custom blended color of Cerakote over manganese phosphate.
:D

Oops! I missed a question:
"Did you do any work to the rear sight?"
Well, kind of. I fabricated it from bar stock. It is one of my 'Tier One' rear sights.
:)
