It's been a slow Sunday, so I thought I'd share a few snaps of my collection. I've been playing with a new Digital SLR and am still frustrated with the finer points of the art including lighting, exposure and composition. It makes me all the more appreciative of the photos Mr. Burton and Mr. Bailey have been sharing with us on a regular basis these past years, as well as the contributions by many other talented 'smiths including Mr. Brian and Mr. Harrison.

No particular theme here, just some of my better attempts. Enjoy.

Very nice, tweetbb. I think that you are much closer than farther as far as the picture-taking is concerned. As far as firearms go, I'd say that you have arrived.

Is the Harrison CCO one of SA lightweight frame versions? Looks great.

Your 1911s are fine examples and your photo taking ability pretty good. For lighting I found my gun photos got a lot better when I bought an external flash. In my case, with a Nikon D40X DSLR, I got the SB-600 flash.

Great guns, I really like the looks of that scalloping. That's probably the one frontstrap treatment I haven't owned.

BTW that Colt Commercial has such a beautiful blue finish, the kind you rarely see anymore.

I like 'em all. Great photos. Sure do wish a fella could still get CMC frames and Pre '50 Commercial Colts. Those are my favorite era as far as markings are concerned. My favorite of the customs is the 5" Harrison Caspian. I think you've got a good thing going there.

The guns and the photos are outstanding. Nice way to spend a weekend.

Glad you've enjoyed them. Thanks for all the kind comments.

Richard, here's the best I can do for now as far as the leather is concerned - Bulman rig by way of Heirloom precision:

As for the Bobtail, a stainless gun just didn't seem to fit in. Maybe next time.

Thanks Jim, I really appreciate that. It's the only custom I own that I commissioned from scratch.
