This is a recently completed pistol that will soon be released into the wild. It is going home to a SWAT cop in Georgia, who has been planning this gun for the better part of 3 years. The perfectly executed golfballing was done by none other than Chuck Rogers, his work is flawless. I have to take the blame for the rest of it. This gun has all the high quality parts you would expect, and the finish is Graphite Black Cerakote over manganese phosphate.

Thanks for looking!
Dave

Some interesting detail on that gun, I like it. The treatment on the the pin holes is a neat touch.

Dave,
Did you modify the Yost rear sight or is that the way they come now.

That, my friend, is sexy.

A very well executed and detailed pistola. Did Mr. Rogers also cut the grips, or are they something off the shelf? I haven't seen a set like that before.

Very well done.

I am the proud owner of this gun, and couldn't be happier. This is my first 1911 and I don't know how I am going to top this one if I have another one built. Dave was awesome to work with. As great as a gunsmith as he is, he is even a better person. I highly recommend getting on his list while there is still room. With the quality of work he does, it won't be long before his list is closed like all the other great smiths on here. Once I get her to the range I'll let you how she shoots.

Nothing like diving into the deep end right out of the gate. You set yourself up, because you will only know high end 1911's and they become a very expensive habit, very quickly.

Congratulations on the gun. You should be rightfully proud of it. Nice work Dave.

Very nice clean looking gun Dave. Congrats to the owner. For whatever reason I like the lighter colored stocks on that gun. But the Simonich style grips sure won't fall out of your hand. Good stuff.

Guys,
Thanks a million for all the comments. I am greatly appreciative of the opportunity to share my work here.

LSK, I did some melting on the Y-B rear sight, as well as opening up forward of the rear face.

Bob, check with either Strider or Simonich Knives for the Gunner Grips. This is an older set in Green-Black G10 that has been exposed to all the crud of the shop and then 'gently' cleaned with carb cleaner before I stuck 'em on the gun.

Thanks again, and God Bless,
Dave

Nice work, Dave. Consistent treatment of the edges, and a really fine job on those rear slide serrations. They're a lot harder than most folks know.

Dave,
Very nice! I really like that pin hole treatment as well. I may have to have you work some of that magic for me later this year.

Thanks again for all the kind words fellas, it's all truly appreciated.

Ned, the front sight is dovetailed with the sight base filed down to the slide. No silver solder involved, my telltale sign would have been flux dripping from the bottom of the spring tunnel...

Warmest regards,
Dave

Very nice duty gun! Not very hip on the flat trigger but then again I've never tried one out myself. Maybe I'm missing out on something good. Love the modification to the rear sight!

I have a flat trigger in my Warrior and I love it. I like it quite a bit better than the curved models out there. The beauty of the 1911 design is that there are so many choices for components out there.

Very nice. I've got Bob Miller reworking a gun for me while I'm out here in the box, but wouldn't mind coming home to two nice 1911's. Email inbound. That's a good looking weapon; hope you don't mind building a near duplicate.

Mr. Erickson,

May I ask how did you perform that texturing on the bottom of the Slide Stop? It looks great.

Best regards,
Joseph
