This is nothing compared to the 1911's that come through here, but its is a West German Sig P220,built by Bruce Gray a few years ago.It started out as a nickel two tone gun.Mr Gray did a trigger job,3.5 lbs single action, short reset trigger, custom short trigger,Warren rear sight and Dawson front fiber optic, and various internal polishing, and custom polished steel guide rod.

And, how does it shoot? I have a P228 that I want to send to Bruce, but somehow I never seem to get around to it.

I don't think they have a phone number posted, so give it time if you e-mail them. They are still getting going in their new location, so haven't got the communication thing dialed in yet. It may take a while, but they will get back to you.

That's pretty nifty.

Coming from a devout 1911 guy, that's high praise.

After having spent the weekend with Bruce and spending some time in his shop, I can say that I am truly impressed with what he can do... There is no one who can compare to the Sig work Bruce does but if you haven't seen his 1911 work you are really missing out, I would put it up there with any of the excellent smiths on here.
I am an inexperienced shooter at best, but I took one of his custom 1911s and was able to repeatedly stack shots on top of each other, and the gun looked immaculate as well :) He is taking a limited number of 1911 orders now, I think there are a few spots left on his waiting list.

Bruce is one of the "old masters" of the 1911 world. He started building guns in the 80's at places you may have heard of-Devel, Boland's, Behlerts etc. The only problem in the past with Bruce was getting consistent work and delivery as he moved around quite a bit.

bladeandbarrel,
I can assure you that is not an issue. Bruce and company are firmly planted in Wheeler County, Oregon. Their temporary shop is in Fossil while construction progresses at their site in Spray. In addition to a shop, the site also has a range for training classes. I have been to both shops and shot on their range. All is progressing well as they expand operations.

FWIW and respectfully submitted.
