How can I not carry this? Especially with a set of ivories on the way.

Enjoy!

Yost and French together again! Very pretty. Nice pics, but a piece like that needs to be seen in person.

I'd consider sending it to you for an up close look if you would return it wrapped in some of that leather you've been displaying.

Normally I don't like engraved guns but not in this case. Not only is the engraving just right but it was done on top of some really nice work. Congrats on the gun. You have a classic for the ages there.

wow! Can I ask how long the wait for Mr. French to do his wonderful work?

I'm not sure I would carry it - shoot it for sure, but I would probably not want to get the scroll work worn by the holster.

That is a very nice pistol, the engraving is just right to compliment the pistol. I too would like to see it properly dressed in Ivory. Of course if you do carry it, a little honest holster wear will only compliment the engraving IMHO.

Thanks all for the kind words. I will be sure to post pics with the ivory grip panels. To carry or not to carry isn't a question. If I keep the gun it will be on my hip.

Wait time was very reasonable and JR delivered in less that half of what he quoted. As to what the current lead time actually is, I would recommend you give JR a call. I don't want to commit him to a time frame that may or may not be doable. He is a true gentleman and was a pleasure to deal with.

Thanks again.

That has got to be one of the most beautiful pistols I've ever seen!

I would be afraid to carry a work of art like that.

Gotta carry. Fantastic looking heater. Enjoy. It is truly a unique pistol. I think I can smell BBQ.

Adadagain,

I love that pistol. I have a blued 1911 with ivories that I have thought about getting engraved. What did that cost and what was the turn around time? And I would carry it too. 8)

Regards,
Greyson

Just the right amount of coverage - I love the tasteful small 'whisps' of accent engraving in places you wouldn't expect them to be...simply gorgeous Government Model-wow!

I'm wondering how many hours were devoted to that project.

It is a beatiful gun!!! Outstanding work by both Mr. Yost and Mr. French. That gun could easily become a family Heirloom.

A couple of quick and dirties of the Yost/French gun properly dressed in some ivory. Sorry for the terrible quality - best I can do with my shaky hands and a camera phone. I don't shoot much better btw. I'll replace with some quality snaps asap.
