Hey all,

I remember seeing one of these on the cover of AH MANY years ago and it started my love of the 1911. Unfortunately there aren't many pics of the Combat Specials floating around on the forums. In fact I don't know that I have ever seen more than 1 or 2 in all the years I have been nosing around on these gun forums. So I thought I would ask the braintrust here at LTW if there are any pics of the Pachmayr Combat Special sitting around on your hard drives that you could post.

If you have any pics of the Combat Special how about sharing them? I'd really like to see some and I'm sure there are others out there that would enjoy them too. If you can't post them and would rather email them, no problem, you can send them to my main email, just PM me and I'll give it to ya.

Thanks for your time and hopefully your pics of the Combat Special.

Nala

There was one at either auctionarms.com or gunbroker.com a couple months ago. I think they wanted $4,000 for it. You might be able to search the closed auctions and find it.

Not a Combat Special, but how about a Signature Model? Not my usual cup of tea when it comes to 1911's, but a piece of history none the less

Here is an interesting one by LaRocca Gunworks, who according to the website Mike LaRocca apprenticed under Frank Pachmyr and is still making these...

And here's one for sale on Guns America right now...

as NYCMedic pointed out, check out http://www.pistoldynamics.com paul liebenberg was one of frank pachmeyer's lead smiths. he has created a tribute combat special that is as accurate as possible to the original. there are pics from 1983 of an original combat special as well. great work from one of the masters--cam
