Nothing wrong with using what works best for ya Ari, and welcome to LTW!
Now take that Emerson and whittle a point on that walking stick

Thank you kindly for the welcome. Actually I have been
"lurking" and have stayed away from comment to avoid being a pain in the neck or other body part.
The Emerson will stay clipped to my pocket and there will be
no whittling on my stick.
It is a Boris Palatnik stick. Boris is to walking sticks, what Ted Yost and John Harrison or maybe more descriptively, what Stan Chen is to 1911's.
As a very young guy; too young to buy a firearm of my own, I fenced competetively pretty well, and have always kept a love for the epee and sabre. Boris provides "special cosmetic and other features" for those who wish slightly more in a walking stick than the simple assistance to balance mandated by past injury or the aging process. It is a comforting companion at times when in an area where what passes for America's "youts", congregate.
I may have to limp, but I do not have to do it on one of those drugstore aluminum jobbies, with the chunk of worn out Goodyear on the bottom.
