Ned,
I saw that you were very happy with a stainless gun you sent and had Ionbond DLC done and promised to post more later.
Can we see what Ionbond looks like on a stainless gun... can we see your work :D

Happy Thanksgiving to All LTW Members

Thanks NYMedic, but I hope not  I believe the good pics are of a CS Springer Operator and the VERY blue pics are of the SS Caspian and I can't tell what it looks like "finish-wise", build-wise it looks awesome :D

Thanks for the efforts it is much appreciated! Really, it makes my day when I learn something here or someone puts out the effort to help!

The gun... It might be, but the pics were probably taken under fluorescent lighting and they have such a strong blue cast to them you can't see the gun's finish. For digital photography the photographer needs to make sure the white balance (or light temperature) setting is set to match the lighting your subject matter is in.

The one I'm trying to find has two 5" guns resting on an OD tactical vest that says "POLICIA" on it. One of them is DLC'd and on is Parko'd. The post title was something like "One For The Casino" and it was right after Casino Royale came out-- but for the life o' me I can't find the post nor the pics.

NYC's link is not to a DLC'd gun.

Here's the pic I was looking for in a post. Parko'd Colt on top, stainless Colt DLC'd on the bottom.

Ned,

Amazing pistols, I really like that DLC. Have you done any of your patented torture tests with DLC? I can just imagine some contraption of your own invention that simulates drawing and re-holstering a pistol like 500,000 times while :D flexing an extractor and slaming a slide back on a frame with no recoil spring....

Seriously, how durable is this stuff compaired to hard chrome?

If you do a search there are several VERY in depth threads on DLC. I just wanted to see what a SS looked like and couldn't find a pic.

So, far according to the posts I've read and I am NOT personally experienced yet, is that the DLC is excellent against wear and there are mixed reviews on how rust, weather resistant it is. I live in the Rockies so its dry and wear resistance is more important to me. If I was living in Florida, S. Georgia, Central Texas or Washington state I might go with something different form the info I have read and not experienced. DLC might turn out to be very rust and weather resistant, but I think that answer is has yet to be determined.

THANKS NED!!! SIMPLY AMAZING WORK AND THAT PHOTO ANSWERED MY QUESTION PERFECTLY !!
