It would seem that our motto over the last year has been ’no minute like the last minute’... and in the interest of staying true to that we’re still not completely ready for the SHOT Show display. But even though we’ve still got one more project in the works we did manage to finish a few guns for this years showing.
The Group shot...
Two from Steve Bailey...
Steve’s guns this year are a pair in opposition. One is a very business like piece built on a Springfield Armory base gun and set up for duty use with 25lpi checkering front and rear, Kart barrel, Legacy Custom MSH, Dawson rail and Surefire light and finished in a matte blasted blue. The gun is ‘show and go’.
The second gun, built on a Colt Commercial Government Model, is just slightly more dressed up. But one shouldn’t be fooled by the Ivory stocks nor the immaculate polished blue finish and nitre blue accents that cover the exquisite engraving of J.R. French as this gun is just as much “go†with a bit more “showâ€.
Steve will be along shortly with a bit more on these...
The four from Ted... Signature Grade and bit more
Pictured from the top...
A hard chromed Signature Grade Series 80 Colt with all the trimmings to include welded frame and slid fit, Kart barrel, 30pli front and rear, HP Professional Grade sights with a gold line front, Wilson beavertail, flattened and serrated slide top, complete line straightening and detailing throughout, and of course his signature hand-made English Walnut stocks.
Next is a Signature Grade Browning Hi-Power with 40pli checkering front and rear, welded-on beavertail, Yost custom thumb safety, C&S hammer and sear, bordered slide, HP Professional Grade sights, our proprietary trigger travel reduction, and of course nitre blued accents.
Switching gears a bit is a Retro Colt built on a WW1 re-issue. The gun features a welded frame and slide fit, Retro rear sight with silver soldered front, 25lpi serrations front and rear, HP Retro grip safety, and polished blue finish.
Last but not least is a Signature Grade Colt Delta Elite featuring a welded frame and slide fit, Schuemann barrel, complete detail and line straightening, flattened and serrated slide top, HP Professional Grade sights with both a gold line and tritium front, Legacy Custom mag-well suite, 30lpi checkering front and rear, polished blue finish with nitre accents, and hand-made Desert Ironwood stocks.
The three from JB...
The top two were guns I finished earlier this year...
At the very top is the Neo-Retro gun, built on a Colt Series 70 Government Model this was the first pistol to feature our “BM†Retro styled thumb safety. Additional features are a welded frame and slide fit, Kart barrel, a reduced profile beavertail grip safety, 30pli checkering front and rear, complete detailing and straightening of frame and slide lines, HP Professional Grade sights, and a polished DLC finish.
Next is a Best Grade gun build on a Colt Series 70 Government Model. This gun features a welded frame and slide fit, Kart barrel, Legacy Custom MSH, flattened and serrated slide top, HP Professional Grade sights, 30lpi checkering front and rear, round-butt conversion, and hand-made Desert Ironwood stocks.
The last gun started as a well worn, abused, and beat up 1918 USGI Colt Government Model that had been rode hard and put up wet and showed no signs of care under the thick coat of Parkerizing it had once been re-finished in. It’s hard to say whether or not this gun was a was restoration or customization and I guess in the end it was allot of both.
This gun features a welded frame and slide fit, Kart barrel, Retro rear sight, silver soldered front sight with gold line insert, 20lpi serrations front and rear, HP Retro grip safety, the “BM“ Retro styled thumb safety, Colt “Commander†hammer, complete detailing and straightening of frame and slide lines, polished blue finish with nitre blue accents, and Ivory stocks.
As I mentioned earlier we’ve got one more project that will hopefully make it to the show but it’s something so out of the norm we’ll have to keep it a secret until then. Enjoy!
