It took two trips to Don Williams, a trip to Steve Morrison and then finally one to Dawson Precision, but I finally got my duty 1911 just the way I wanted it.

This gun is very special to me. It was my first handgun and I bought it new in the box. Even prior to becoming a police officer I knew I wanted to carry it one day on a Sam Browne belt. When I bought it I never imagined that it would go through the evolution that it has.

Started out looking like this:

Now looks like this:

What the bad guys see...

With Surefire X200 attached

This gun has received a lot of work. One thing that it did not have was the slide-to-frame fit tightened. I wanted it left loose for reliability. This gun is everything I need and nothing that I don't. It is my ultimate 1911.

It's ridden for two weeks so far in a Safariland 6280 with its X200 attached. I have a feeling it's going to be there for years to come.

Thank you Don and Steve!

Nice. I like the way you've got that decked out, down to the stippling; and I'm not usually one for stippling.

I didn't know ya'll were allowed 1911's in 45acp. I used to live up by JMH, and every Contra Costa LEO I ever saw packed a 9 in plastic, or mebbe a Beretta.

We carry them in Denver, i was fortunate to have a 1991A1 Government and a MKIV Combat Commander (both stainless) built by Chuck Rogers. Nice pics and work, I know just how you feel.

A very practical well done duty gun. What type of finish do you have on it?

Nice. I have been looking at an Axiom from Mars Armament.
