CT-

Lots to like in this pair!!! The modifications made to the rear of the slide look SHARP! I like it, very cool and as always your hybred checkering is functional with classic clean lines...very nice!

Mark

Tim, those are simply beautiful!
I really like the CTB emblems in the grips.
Have we seen a bobtail from you before?
:D

Wonderful, Tim. I like the new twist on the "Flatback" rear-of-slide treatment.
I suppose you made those stupendous grips, too....?

Wow, those are nice. So many cool details to drool over. I am a sucker for the looks of the hybrid checkering. That is some art right there.

Pardon my ignorance, but can someone explain the treatment of the rails (what are the little dowel looking objects between the slide and frame rails) :?: :?:

Thanks for the kindness, guys.

Only a 1911, those are Acc-U-Rails. A really cool method of slide/frame tightening. Pioneered by Bob Kreiger. I've used them for years and years.

Nedly, necessity is the mother. The different flatbacking was because these two are Series 80's. As you know, the back of the frame has that one area that's mighty thin (and yes the grips are made in house).

Thanks for the answer Tim. I guess I learn something new everyday. I had heard of them, but had never seen an example / had no clue what they looked like. I guess I assumed they looked more rail shaped than that. :? But alas, Acc-U-Dowel  wouldn't be the epitome of marketing.

I keep coming back to take another look at the pictures and keep seeing new and cool details I missed before.

Those things could hang in the Louvre....or better yet, one on each of my hips. One of these days...

On your hips, you say?
I'd have them babies riding in a deep appendix carry! No "Thunderwear" necessary!

You are a better man than I am, Gunga Din.

I will not make anymore comments in the 'vein' of a 1911 'C&L' in Thunderwear idea

However, a brave man such as yourself wouldn't even need the safety on....

I was thinking more of riding in a Heinie/Alessi DOJ on each hip...open carry. 8)

Thanks, I needed a laugh tonight. I finally saw, read and posted in the Comments forum about Lou's passing.
