This is a custom gun you guys will be reading about. I won't let the cat out of the bag about the article (assuming it doesn't get killed) but this is a 100-yard group.

Standing.

The basics: a parts gun assembled by Doug Jones, John Harrison and Ned Christiansen. 9mm, shooting Hornady XTP.

What do we call this little beastie?

Here's another one:

The Longbow

I can see John Harrison's sight on there. Glad to know it works...at 100 YARDS!! :D

If it were a 45acp these names would work: Trebuchet, Onager or Ballista

If they start a Production Company for them in 45acp they could call it HT which of course stands for HURL TECHNOLOGIES
and you could get a "MOH Guarantee" which of course stands for "Minute of Hurl"

Since it is in a 9mm I guess LongBow works :D

That is pretty amazing. Did you use a Ransom Rest?

I do believe "Gungnir" would be appropriate.

I'm going to recuse myself from the contest since I had a minor part in this gun's history, but I will tell you guys that I've shot it. Pat and friend Jeff and I took turns shooting an 8 or 10 inch plate with it at a lasered 70 yards and this dang thing made is seem almost too easy to get hits.... Pat beat us all with 7 hits in a row, this was using a CorBon load I'd never seen a truncated cone FMJ round that was phenominally accurate.

The sight picture and trigger and just the beauty of the dang thing-- none of which I had a hand in-- were very confidence inspiring.

Eagle, what is the meaning of Gungnir?

Finger of God..... not bad. Don't want this baby pointing at you.....

Gungnir was Odin's spear.

Stolen from Wikipedia: "Odin was a Norse God, His role, like many of the Norse gods, is complex. He is associated with wisdom, war, battle, and death, and also magic, poetry, prophecy, victory, and the hunt."

Mr. Sweeney, indeed.......

That there is a Doug Flutie...Hail Mary...The Heisman...Touchdown...better eat your Wheaties...

It scores all day long. Hits on the numbers anywhere inside of 100y.

No, it is a G&A hat. And the operation is now Codename: Longbow.

No Ransom rest, just me. Ned didn't mention that he and Jeff were hitting the plate quite well with Longbow, too.

I have a similar 9mm SVI pistol built by EGW. It is the most fun pistol I own to shoot and possibly the most accurate also.

So does this mean I'm its Godfather? Will it come and visit me on summer vacation?
I have a very similar piece, that I found used and abused. I had Ross Carter fix the hammer follow, dehorn it, round edges of the Bo-Mar rear with a slightly larger window, put on single-sided thumb safety and then HC it by Metaloy. It is a gem.

I have a Glock 17 that will shoot that good. Next time you come to PASA remind me and I will let you shoot it.

I shot one of Dick's pistols (his personal 1911) at an event in PASA. It shot well.

We may have to put a plate up at 100 (or more) yards, and keep count of the hits.

I like that gun a lot. On a side note, when is that Gunsmithing the 1911 book i remember hearing about back in the first Book of the 1911 coming out? I love reading your material and hope this one is still in the works.

Watch, sell tickets, start a pool on score and results.

The Second chance match has the Saucer Event for a few years: shooting a straightaway clay pigeon. Now that was difficult!

Silver and black...I was going to suggest "The Raider".

Given the accuracy, might be inappropriate.
