I thought that Nghthawks, Wilsons, Baers and Browns were amazing. I've owned a Wilson and now own 2 Nighthawks and still can't believe I do. After joining this site yesterday and looking around, the smiths on this site are absolutely mind blowing. Makes the semi-custom guys look like old hat. Just wanted to say that you guys are amazing and are the cause of me drooling. I hope to buy a Best Grade Heirloom someday (after talking to Jason today) as well as many others but can't afford more than 1 or two somewhere down the line (next year or 2011 will be my 1st).
Once again, you guys rock, thanks for the pics, info, and all the great work.

Richard...I agree with Marc, welcome to LTW and be prepared to gain a new addiction like none you ever thought of! These guys will have you captive waiting for the next "fix" only you usually won't ever have to worry about getting the "nods" between them here. The members on this site are also the best in the world, unlike some of the cast on "dimwit-dot-com" or some of the other firearms forums..you are truly in the company of a great bunch of gentlemen (and a few getlewomen) and artisans here! This site is absolute torture because all these guns are well beyond my means. My 2 nighthawks were only possible because I had them on a long layaway and sold a rifle. I'm supposed to be saving for an engagement ring. After that will be an heirloom best grade, harrison or something like them.

I thought NH, Wilson's, Les Baer and the rest of the semi-customs were the end all of the 1911 food chain..... Don't get me wrong, the aformentioned semi-customs are great pistols (I've owned both Wilson and NH), but nothing compares to what the custom smiths on this forum can create; simply amazing stuff....... Welcome to the real end all of custom 1911's, this is the top of the food chain.......

Maybe this advice will help remove any doubts: If you did that, you might be a little better motivated.

Whaddaya need two Nighthawks for? Once you have an LTW 'smithed 1911, the Nighthawks won't see daylight unless you use one as a beater gun to practice with. An LTW is "well beyond your means" because you're intent on slumming with a coupla Nighthawks . My CT Brian combo was only possible because I sold "my 2 nighthawks" (in my case it was actually 4 Wilson Combats that funded my set)-- HA!! Then I went around the SHOT show the next year wondering why I couldn't find any decent '11s at the Baer, Brown, and Nighthawk booths.
