A friend/client had this nice big letter Series '70 sitting around and decided that he'd like a pistol that made him think about the good old days. He had some shooting memorabilia that had some designs that he fancied, so we had a little period engraving done to set off the S&W K sight and the other old school touches. I didn't take as many pics as I meant to, but here are some good shots. Enjoy!

Beautiful Classic Looking Colt! My favorite type of grip safety and hammer on a Colt.

I know what DVC is but what is the logo on the right side of the slide?

It is a logo that the South West Pistol League used. It is a fist holding a lightning bolt.

Old School is cool! Very nice build John, the engraving adds a nice 'blast from the past' along with the S&W revolver sights and hard chrome/blue combination!

A grip safety with no bumps!? Salute to the GI profile! (Not a big fan of those bumps...sorries)

I must say that K sight looks superb sitting atop that beauty. Very nice work!

John

This is a great example of a new / old school pistol.. I know the owner and he is very proud of it and rightly so. If it had an ambi safety I may have tried to "borrow" it from him.

It make me want one, perhaps that is what we will need to do on my stock commander in the safe... An new / old school commander.. That sounds cool..

John, as you already know I’m a sucker for a retro styled gun and it doesn’t get much cooler or more classic than a two-tone with a K-frame rear. Nicely done my friend! :D
