A friend of mine just picked up his S80 commander that he finally decided to get fixed up. It turned out pretty well. He had a Kart barrel installed and really wanted some melted adjustable sights installed with a FO front.
I really like the 30lpi checkering he had done to the gun, as it is a nice grippable surface without being too coarse.
Anyway, I got it away from him long enough to shoot some photos.

Boy that is nice.

I have an XSE Commander that I have been adding little things here and there over the years. When I think about where I am trying to get with it, your pistol is what comes to mind. I LOVE the adjustable sights and how they are melted and kinda low mounted. I also like the ROUND hammer. Those oblong "Commander" hammers just don't look right to me.

I wish I was talented enough and had the equipment to do mods like that.

It was done by Colorado Springs gunsmith Gary Kimball.
Gary is son of well-known riflesmith Keesey Kimball.
He was a member of the APG when he retired about 10 years ago, but he reopened his shop last year to have some fun. From the couple of guns I have seen, they are great.
