It's no secret that I'm not a photographer, but this one was going out to the customer and this was my only chance to shoot some pics of a Commander sized 9MM that my customer Kelly asked me to build. The frame started out as a full size gov't frame that was cut to Commander specs, and was topped off with a Caspian Damascus slide with Heinie sights. It was fitted with a Schuemann ramped barrel that started out as a 5 inch tube, but was cut to the proper size and fitted with an EGW bushing A Stan Chen magwell suite was installed, and my buddy Chuck did the golfballs on the frontstrap and mainspring housing. A CMC beavertail, Wilson barstock thumb safety and Wilson hammer and sear with a Harrison trigger were used as well. The lower half was Cerakoted in Titanium blue at Kellys request as he thought it would look good with the damascus and I can't disagree. Blue carbon fiber grips by Carbon Creations finish it up.
The photos are worse than usual, as I wasn't able to use any lighting at all. Any lights in the shop caused massive over exposure and the pics were taken with just the ambient light coming in the windows. It was so dim that the cameras viewfinder was totally dark to the eye. Looks like a new camera is in order. And, to top it off, I couldn't edit the pics as my computer said I didn't have enough memory.

Looks great ol' pal! I see you figured out the process for bringing out the contrast in the Damascus steel..... bit of a pain, ain't it, but it really pays off!

Gorgeous 'Commander' style 1911 Don! Very unique look to it, wow!

Is the Caspian Damascus slide blue carbon steel or stainless?
