Almost exactly four years ago, I closed my waiting list for custom gun work:

http://www.louderthanwords.us/forum/vie ... f=6&t=6422

It is still closed, but I have sort of an announcement. If you are on my waiting list and have not been contacted by me in the last week, please Email me.

In the last week, since returning from SHOT, I have contacted or attempted to contact everyone on the list. The reasons are several:

1. To make sure my contact info is still valid.
2. To find out if they are still interested in doing something.
3. To let them know I have not arbitrarily passed them over-- that I am still fighting my way to them!
4. To make sure they know that if we discussed pricing in, say, 2002, things may have changed just a little.....
5. To neaten up and reorganize the list, and yes, shorten it if there should be some drop-offs. When I started this list I did not forsee it getting so long, and frankly, the first pages were not so neat. I have been wanting to take the hand-written, marked-up pages and get them on the computer for some time now.

There were several names on the list I could not contact since Emails and phone numbers were obsolete. In those cases where I had physical addresses, I sent a letter, worded so that if it reached the intended recipient, the meaning would be clear, but if they had moved, the current resident would probably not realize it was gun-related. Where there was no other way, I did my level best to find these people using Google, one of the "people finding" services, and by searching a couple of the forums' member lists. Some of them, I never found. I sent many Emails and left many voice mails; many were responded to, some not, and some, I suppose, I will get the response in the coming weeks. Some people responded that they no longer wanted the work done. I always stress to people that that is no inconvenience to me, and I totally understand when it's been years, they may have already got it done, or their needs and/or resources may have changed. I learned that two guys on my list had died.

So, the purpose of this post is to be one more way of reaching the people that are on my list whose contact info of 5-10 years ago is no longer valid. Where I typically tell people the waiting list is 5-7 years, my consolidated list has several names on it from '02. The consolidated list will naturally be a little shorter..... but until I feel I have gotten all the responses I'm going to get, I won't know just how it looks. That said, as of this moment it is still more than 5 years long.

Thank you for your patience, everyone.

Since this an announcement, and not really a discussion, I have locked it.
