Very nice piece! However, the grips are a real eyesore. A nice set of VZ's would not only be affordable and practical, but would give the gun a classy custom look while adding controllability. Caution: Custom grips are very addictive! Companies like VZ G-10 Grips are continually coming out with new looks, "checkering" patterns, and lamination combos. I am not related to VZ Grips in any way shape or form. With that said, I have at least a half dozen pair of their durable offerings and I also have three sets of Elephant Ivories. Never a dull moment when the 1911 bug bites! LOL

I really like the grips, simple and understated. They fit the pistol to a T. Not sure if it was done on purpose but they match the leather perfectly.

Looks good. Why don't you tell us what all you did to it.

Why did you choose not to blend the frame/MSH and break the edges at the top of the FS?

Excellent work there! Is it possible to remove the Series 80 FPB on a 1911?
