Well my first all out Custom 1911 has arrived[:D]
Life for my .45 started out as a nice reliable GI .45! Fun to shoot, but could not see the sights and wanted more! I then sent my GI out to Chuck Rogers @ [red]www.rogersprecision.com [/red] , to have the Golf Ball treatment done to the front strap, and Mainspring Housing, Add a Dawson Precision Light rail, and Rear Novak night sights with his own twist! The Front sight was left tall to be later sighted in and have the tritium insert installed by Bob Rogers @ [red]www.rodgerspistolsmithing.com [/red] ! As soon as it came back from Chuck, it went to Bob! IM me for a detailed description of his work...Never mind here is the list:
Install and Blend Grip safety
Bevel Mag well
Adjust front sight to proper height
Install, re contour, and blend thumb safety
Fit, contour & polish barrel bushing
Re-crown Barrel to 45 degrees
Re-Shape & polish Barrel throat
Install the sights
Reliability package and trigger job-The trigger is Flawless...Nice Crisp clean break at 3 3/4 pounds.
De-Horn the pistol
Fit and Install extended Mag catch
Fit oversize firing pin stop
Tune and Blend Extractor
PARTS:
Cylinder & Slide Hammer and Sear
Greider Precision Trigger
McCormick hammer strut
Ed Brown disconnector
Brown Thumb safety
Wilson extended Mag release
Caspain firing pin stop & Extractor
Wolff recoil, main, and sear springs
EGW barrel bushing
The Finish is Black Parkerizing, which Bob went the extra step on his own dime and had a Black heated finish applied over the parkerizing!
I must say That this is ABSOLUTLY AWESOME...The work that Bob and Chuck have done is FLAWLESS! I just went outside and put a box of 50 through it...Very Accurate with the stock barrel (My Choice), and I could not be happier with the trigger, Crisp Clean break with absolutly zero travel. It breaks Crisp at 3 3/4 Lbs[:D]
This is an absolute work of ART. Bob went out of his way and on his own dime to add a few extras, that he thought this gun should have! I tried to send him extra money, but he flat out refused, he just stated "Merry Christmas"! He also played a trick on me...I was waiting for an e-mail from Bob stating that the Parkerizing was completed, and that we would be onto the next stage in the build, when he e-mailed me and wanted to know if I would be home tomorrow as my Gun would be there around noon via UPS[:D] He then told me about the few extras he added! WOW....I was floored when he told me all the extras he did! Both Bob and Chuck have worked with me during the whole process! They have been helpful with ideas and there experiences in my build! They have become friends along the way as well!
To both Bob and Chuck I thank you!
To all here at LTW, if you are ever looking for a excellent reliable custom builder, you will never need to look farther than Bob Rodgers and Chuck Rogers, they are true Artists, and gentleman ! By the way they are not related, but their craftsmanship skills are[:D]

Very slick.

That re-cut barrel crown makes that sucker look BIG.

Your finish helped me make up my mind about what I want done to the GI I just finished.

Enjoy.

That is a nice lookin' gun. I imagine you wouldn't be able to drop it with those grips and golf-balling on it. Chuck does really kewl stuff.

Sean,
Very nice blaster! 8) You couldn't have found two nicer guys and more talented craftsmen to build it.

Hey Guiys,
Thanks for the compliments! Both Bob and Chuck were great to work with. This pistol turned out BEAUTIFUL, and I almost feel bad shooting the crap out of it :D I am taking it to a Pistol/carbine class in May, and have been shooting it regularly since it arrived. It has been 100% relaible, and very accurate with the stock barrel (My choice). I am going to put this baby through the ringer.
Thanks again,
Sean
