Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match .45 acp modified to Seecamp's Double/Single Action by TSW of Paramus, NJ (a Seecamp authorized distributor). I took a close look at the gun; that thing that looks like a single action trigger - is exactly that! I had read that you could remove the DA trigger and it would still work; now I know why! Pretty ingenious!

Neat-O. I'd love to see it apart. I wonder about the frame, I'm thinking it's the original Colt frame that they re-numbered....?

That is a rare piece and you do not see anything like that any more. Thanks for sharing with us

When I tried to search the serial number on Colt's website and on Proofhouse.com I drew a blank. I reversed the N70 to 70N and moved it to the front of the remaining number...and that SN comes back as a Gold Cup National Match from 1974 - which makes sense.

call up Colt. I just did this for a S.70 gold cup that I just bought. I couldn't find the number at colt's website, proofhouse, or sightm1911.com either. They said mine was from 1982, and that S.70 gold cups were built into 1983.

I tried that number switching you just mentioned, and colt's website now say "1974 gold cup national match .45"

wierd
