These are fun guns to shoot! Great training gun and I wouldn't be afraid to carry it either. Built on a 70's era Colt, this gun had quite a few things that had to be fixed before it was ready for customizing. The slide bore was extra large at the bushing, so I had to use a Clark Custom part with the three lobes and cut it down to Commander length, weld the front side of the lug & fit it to sit tight against the face of the slide and rework the ID as the fitted diameter was too long for the added angle of lock up. Some one had installed a Millett dual-crimp front sight, so those holes had to be welded up. On the bottom rear corner the angled faces of the frame adjacent to the main spring housing had been belt-sanded off at a taper, so the sides of the MSH were more and more exposed from the top to the bottom. Not uncommon in the days of the arched MSH - you didn't pick up on the mis-match as readily. The angled frame flats had to be welded up and reshaped.

The rest of the custom work is normal H-D fare. Extreme Service sights with a square notch rear and white dot front. Kart barrel with flush-cut, beveled polished crown. H-D slide stop & thumb safety. My slotted Commander hammer & ignition set with H-D smooth faced trigger. Ball cuts, French borders, top and rear serrations with a bottom bevel complete the slide. Front strap high gripped & checkered 30 lpi with smooth top & bottom borders. Same treatment for the Chen MaxRamp MSH. Carry Beveled and Round-Butted with a S&A beavertail. Blued with a 1200 grit polish. Enjoy the pix!

That is a nice pistol. I have a five inch hard chrome gun John worked on that is a real tack driver. Good job. Thanks for sharing with us.
