Just wrapped this up. Lots of work into this one including a laser weld-up and refit. I would have set the Shield Driver rear sight lower but the dovetail was already in place on this one. The barrel is the Shuemann "AET", with gain twist and fluted chamber, neither of which is beneficial or necessary that I can see, but it does shoot well.

Pics don't do the burnt bronze color justice, it is a warm and appealing color. It was a last minute decision to try it instead of all black, and although the color of a gun has nothing to do with, well, anything else, I think it looks nice.

Awesome color combo Mr. Christiansen... That is a cool looking grip safety; your creation I'm assuming?..

Yes. Color combo was the owner's choice, I can't take credit. Well, I did say "OK"....

His choice of ammo is the Federal 230 HST, and the pistol likes them.

When I zero a pistol at 28 yards, for me, one in a hundred comes back and says "it ain't right for me". I think that's for a variety of reasons, but the owner of this pistol gets a radically different point of impact than I do. I cannot impugn his abilities or experience as I've seen the groups he can shoot and I know he's a serious shooter and a well-trained-and-practiced one. So it is what it is. We've been through it a few times. The below pictured group for me will result in a perfect POI for him.

Once again I find no validity in the "first round goes outside the group" conventional wisdom. The first round of this group, the first round fired after refinishing, is right in the middle. Indeed I usually find the very first shot out of the barrel is also within the group. Just my results, maybe I'm doing something wrong......

I'm not a fan of the flat trigger personally but he requested it and again, knowing his level of proficiency I have to figure if he wants it, it's no for styling purposes.

Beauty of .45 ACP: if your POI ends up being true, the owner can always save his face by saying he really wanted a 75 yard zero.

The coffee part, for sure. Try using Jolt Cola instead of water for making coffee sometime, it works. I typed that in .73 seconds.

Sharks, you say. Holsters, you say. Hmm.

That's a nice piece of hide there!

Now show us the one for the rail mounted...."extreme option"...! (Hoping its not IWB....especially not appendix with the "extreme option" flopping down there, teeth gnashing, laser slinging all around!!)

There is a nice fella who visits other forums (or fora? what's the right way, Ned?) that I frequent myself. That fella carries an HK with a slide mounted reddot and a laser/light Surefire combo in an appendix iwb. He and I talked about it, he seems to not mind.

My rail mounted thingy is just a regular Surefire that lives on my night stand and goes on the gun when I check out for the night. The holster for that is a garden variety kydex Raven. I'd post it here but it will bring the kewl factor of this thread down. Can't let that happen.

That grip safety is awesome. Shoot.....the whole build is amazing, but that grip safety give a clue. A clue leading to the alchemist's mind behind the build.
Really cool gun, Ned!!!

Not to sound blase, but a cool blaster from Ned? And you expect anything else?

Ned, I understand about the zero shift. You and I have that, and the gunsmith who taught me, and I, had it.

We could not sight in pistols for each other, it took that extra step of doing it ourselves.

As I recall, your guy and I have the same problem with your sight-ins.
