I think no matter how the 1911 continues to evolve at the hands of talented custom builders who stretch the platform with innovative techniques and modifications, the combination of blued steel and ivory will always remain classic.

For many years ivory stocks have been a marked touch of functional elegance and, although there are more modern grip choices available now, a fine blued gun that wears ivory stocks will always make a statement.

What’s even cooler is when these guns get used. When they get worn daily in a classically styled IWB holster with each use and draw stroke earning the pistol a bit of character along the way.

As this type of gun wears and collects holster miles both the traditional polished blued finish and the ivory stocks will gain a ‘patina’ that can only come from honest use. I’m happy to still build this style of gun for the discerning 1911 enthusiast and I’m even happier when I get to see them with a few years of character on them.

Enjoy the photos!

I concur, blue steel and ivory go beautifully together, but your craftsmanship gave it the WOW factor... Awesome work; congratulations to the owner....
