But before going too far, I noticed much of the roll marking was either too light or even (seriously!)
missing all together!
How is it that Colt's quality control lets this happen more often than not? Surely it wouldn't take a rocket surgeon to adjust the roll stamping to actually accomplish the job correctly.
Fortunately, fellow LTW member and engraver extraordinaire David Clevinger came to the rescue. The man is a true artist, as the snap below will attest of his finished restoration.
Now, on to finish this hot rod up.
