My Springfield Professional Model and a Nowlin built on a STI Frame in .40s&w were about the same at $2200
The Nowlin had two barrels fitted, a standard and one with a 3xport compensator.
I have since sold both guns the SA went for about $2500 (it was finished and signed by Dave Williams on 9/11/2001)
and the Nowlin went for $2600 but that included a case of ammo.

Never can get pictures to post so here is a link to my webshots sight that has some of the guns that have passed in and out of my hands:

Well, let's see...

About $2,700.00 on a S/S Series 80 done by Ted, now in the hands of another forum member. Thought it was too nice to carry, in the end. Miss it, though.

About $2,900 on a NRM Series 70 by Wayne Novak.

The Series 80 was not built for me. The Series 70 was, so I am more to blame there. Didn't intend it to be that expensive, and the wife has never even seen that one ! Wayne insists that I carry and shoot it a bit more - since it is a two-tone, he can always blue the slide again. Besides, we'll all be dead a long time. :D

Can't really take good pics, so I haven't had the inclination to set up with a hosting service.

I have around $1925 in a stainless Colt 1991 on which John Harrison did his thing. I have $2500 in a Precision Gunworks Series '80 9x23 that also is set up to shoot 9x19. Also have about $2100 in a Precision Gunworks stainless Series '70 retro pistol.

Oh yeah, $2500 in a Robar Lightweight Commander.

Wow !

I'd be afraid to carry that - but, we'll all be dead a long time, so maybe not, after all.
Can't wait to see the pics.

I've got just shy of $5k into a now defunct ( ) Custom Arms Co. for my daily carry gun,
a Colt Delta Elite carry-comp. I'd love to post pics, but I'm not only not digitally capable, but
a complete idgit when it comes to figuring out computer tech :? . I can e-mail pics......Mark
Garrity can testify to the coolness of this pistol since he got to shoot it before me..... !!!
At least he built me a bitchin' shark rig to tote it in style! I knew it was gonna be a pile of money
going in, but this was to be my lifetime keeper, so money was less important than a bespoke
shooter. I picked the right guy to build it, just wish he'd of stuck around.

I will attest the CAC 10mm carry-comp is one helluva piece!
I had the pleasure of living near Pete Carber who built it (when I lived in PA) and got to test-fire it with him thru it's various stages as the work on it progressed, as Mr. Hall said. Unfotunately, my computer skills aren't much above his and I can't get the photos he e-mailed me to post here.
(The URL is showing "bmp" as the last three digits instead of the standard "jpg" if any of you computer guys know if that makes a difference).

I've had two custom 1911s so far, waiting on my third. The most expensive one probably cost me about $2,500 all in (base gun + parts & labor) total, but that's because I paid one 'smith to do some work, then had to pay Dane Burns to fix it before he did his own work. It turned out nice, but I had to sell it off due to Real Life.

The "Retro-Rocket" 10mm Ted did for me was about $2,000 total, including the cost of the base gun.

Spent about $2500 on my custom Springfield 'Operator' by Bob Rodgers.

Image

The only thing that is original on this gun is the frame, slide, front site, ejector and the factory barrel which shoots just under 1.5 in. @ 25 yards...

I spent almost 3K with a well renowned pistolsmith getting a fullhouse 1911 done up once. While the fit and finish was first rate and the pistol has proven reliable and accurate, so have another 1911 and a Delta Elite I've had done costing me more than a third less each than the 3K job. I believe that you get what you pay for, but there's no need to go whole hog usually except if you're interested in the "wow factor." KISS

I can't recall the exact figure and don't want to  . Probably approx. $1300 - $1700 not including the price of the base Cmbt Cmndr. 80 series.
By John Jardine with the exception of the frontstrap checkering, by Ted Yost (or someone within his shop).

My most expensive gun got a little ridiculous, and it still isn't "done" to me. It is a Delta Elite that I waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy overpaid for the base gun ($925) that was supposedly "pristine NIB condition." The labor alone ran just under $1600, and the parts were $750. All in all, it came out around $3200, which is much more than I'll ever spend again. I'm in the midst of contemplating selling it, but I know I'll take a big hit for it, which is what Is slowing me down. On average, between parts and labor, my guns sit between $2000 and $2500, with the Delta being the only one I feel I "overpaid" for.
