Not bad when you get guns through the shop by the other LTW builders. I try to take that opportunity to photograph them when they are here.

Ned's guns along and I would imagine Chuck Rogers' guns pose a bit of a dilemma. That is, what do you photograph. When snappin' a classic Colt there are some features worth showing but sometimes hard to see through the lens. Ned's guns have so many well done features and metal work that you struggle with what exactly you want to capture.

Hard chrome guns glare pretty good in photos so the light is a little dim. I hope I caught some of the things that sets Ned's style apart from his contemporaries. I have said it before and I will say it again. "How does he sleep?" I usually struggle with whether or not I am going to serrate the rear of a slide. How do you make up your mind with all the exacting things you see here? Absolutely stunning pistol Ned. Congrats to the owner who now is looking for a new safe. :P

Here goes.

Ned does a very kewl mod, where he insets the tritium tube. That way the ninjas with all the other kewl stuff don't see you in the dark. Sorry for the goober, I didn't see it until the download.

For some reason, the word "fun" just jumped out of my mouth when I saw this. It just looks neat.

Ned & Steve, thanks for sharing.

You know, out here in Phoenix one of the "hot" issues at the moment is breastfeeding in public. Therefore, I think the nipple like front strap is perfect for this present time. That tritium insert is also way cool.

That grip safety looks "thinner" to me. Is it truly thinner, or is that the photograph?

Every time I see a pic of this gun, the same thought jumps into my head...

"Dang the top of that slide must have taken alot of work!"

One of my favorites so far!

Steve, your images are great! The subtle nuances of the gun were captured.

You have no idea how fortunate I feel just to be on the list. The gunsmiths of LTW are truly at the top of their craft, yet somehow, they continue to elevate higher and higher. And lest you think they have become aware of their greatness, or arrogant, they are all true Gentlemen. How splendid this community is!

I wish Ned would learn how to do metal work. :D

Most of the guns of his that I've seen fall under the following categories for me:

"I would never have ordered that, BUT I LIKE IT."
OR....
"Had someone described to me what he was going to do, it would not have appealed to me, BUT I LIKE IT."

This one's another. If Mr Bailey had described this gun without showing us pictures, and without saying who did the work, it would not have sounded good to me at all.
BUT I LIKE IT.

Mr Christiansen has a creepy way of making something "different" look right, instead of weird. Incredible.

Theophorus-
The grip safety looks thin to me too. Kinda resembles one of Wayne Novak's HiPower beavertails I think.
Another one for the "I wouldn't have thought so, but I like it" kind of things.

I think that's the first time I've seen the backstrap thinned down like that. I'll bet this one feels great in the hand.

What a nice looking gat. What I love the most about the guns done by the LTW crew is that everytime I look at pictures of one I pick up small details I missed the first time. Nothing better than a 38oz work of functional art.

Ned, your innovation and attention to detail never cease to amaze me!

Steve "Ichiro" Bailey - Excellent photos as usual!

Theo, The grip safety thinness, you talking about up in the tang? I get everything as high as I can so it is probably a little thinner than some in that area.

KC, let me just say you don't want to get within a mile of me trying to make something out of wood

Steve, thanks for the great pics. Zounds, you even caught the glow of the tritium insert!? There's magic in that camera!

This gun was supposed to be a bit plainer. The only reason I wound up doing the slide work was that the juncture of the slide top radius and sides was extremely wavy. Talked to the owner and we decided to straighten it up by going to the rib.

That blue goober BTW is Microlon grease. That is by no means my default lube around here but I've been sorta experimenting with it on new/tight guns.

Plain. I even tried once again to get by with the stock Colt sear. They are OK for some uses but on this one, in the end I had to install a higher-end part.

The grip reduction gets into the channels for the MSH as you can see. This radical might not be for everyone, but on the other hand, I've never done it for a guy and had him say he didn't like it. Changes the feel of the gun quite a bit. I think it gives a little edge in control since you get a better wrap on the gun. Your hand says, "Hey, we've got a .380 here".

Chrome BTW is by Tripp Research, best job I've ever seen, I believe. Chrome does not like to go into nooks and crannies; to get it there is a lot of work on the plater's part; they do it.
