I own a Kimber Combat Carry which is, according to the person I purchased this pre-owned gun from, a Series I gun that predates the Compact CDP and CDP II.
As you can see from the attached photo, it looks like the CDPs. In fact those three guns shares similar features: stainless "Commander" slide mated to an alloy "Officer's ACP" frame, checkered front strap, bushingless bull-barrel, captured recoil system, night sights, chamfered mag well, an ambi safety, etc.
I shoot the gun low left consistently at all ranges. By comparison I don't shoot my other two .45 ACP guns (a Star PD and Beretta 8045D MiniCougar) low left.
As such, for as much as I like the sights, I may need a new front sight. I also need a new trigger since my fingers are short enough that the trigger on this gun is bit long for me. Since I'm on the subject of replacing things to this gun, are there any suggestions as to other work that would benefit the gun? Are there any compact match bushingless bull-barrels that are available? Should the MIM parts be replaced? I don't care if they stay or not....as long as they work then that's good enough for me.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
