Hello all,

I have been lurking around this website for about the last year or so, and as often as my wife will allow. Until tonight, I have yet to register or post. I have finally gotten up the motivation to register on LTW. I just got done reading the post about Al Shear and Cpt. Tighe, regarding their selfless contributions to others, and that pretty much "clinched" it for me. I can hide in the shadows no longer.

First, a brief spiel about me. I am a cop in Omaha, NE. I am currently a detective on the graveyard shift, but I can't wait to get back to street patrol. My brief experience with investigations has made it clear to me that I need to get back to getting my hands dirty, and on the front lines of snatching up dirtbags.

In addition to my 15-month-old son, my wife and I are expecting our second child in July. We cannot wait, and we both feel that life does not get much better than this.

My interests have always included shooting and finely crafted firearms. I have reserved my opinions on many topics because my experience with 1911's pales in comparison to the "regulars" on this forum.

I am humbled to be in the company of such fine men and women.

Thank you, and stay safe,
Dave

Welcome. Guys like you and Capt. Tighe are the heros sir. Not me. Please don't put me in your company. Putting life and limb on the line for your community and country is the most selfless act I know of.
You have my undying admiration.
Al

Welcome aboard! I did a brief stint with a bank headquartered at 90th and Dodge in Omaha.

This custom gun thing can be quite an addiction. You had better save some time and line up a good thearapist now!

Dave-

Welcome aboard, sir! It's good to have another cop, so we can keep an eye on Sgt. Bailey. :D And congrats on the family! My one and only is a college freshman and really is my pride and joy.

Al was a cop, but was forced to change careers due to family situation and medical issues. He's still very much a cop at heart and would jump back into the fray in a second, if possible.

You're correct about the folks here, they are a fantastic bunch. Ive had contact with a number of the members and most of the craftsmen. My questions have always been answered and I have been steered away from bad things and steered into good things. Just one of many examples: Ray Harms went way beyond the call of duty to provide me with info on .38 Super mags and and their effect on aluminum frame Colts.

Enjoy your stay and make sure you go home every day and kiss and hug Momma and the babies :D .

Chip
