....Alex and I are working on a holster design that should soon be available. .
Looking forward to it.
As I've said before, I often get more excited over a new holster tha a new gun.

Hya, Mule, now you get back home to Peru. Apura te!

There, now..... let's see what's in the package that just arrived..... criminy, gonna have to say something to Alex about not using gut to tie up his packages..... snip, snip, slice, tear, crinkle, crinkle.

Oh, wow! I finally have my own sharkskin belt, awesome! Perfect timing. I hate to admit it, but I've been using a Triple K ranger belt I got from Cheaper Than Dirt, for about 4-5 years now. I can't say it didn't get me by....... but it finally gave out three weeks ago while I was cinching it up. And now.... I own my first, real, true gun belt. Just like everybody said, it is better for the wearing of stuff on the belt.

Lessee here.... ah yes, sharkskin IWB for a 1911 with a Dawson rail, sharkskin belt holster and mag pouch for a Commander, spoken for, spoken for, spoken for...... sharkskin belt loop for an LTW member's Nossar IWB, he wanted to do away with the snaps and have it solid. Had my doubts about this but it does sorta slenderize things, but I sure like the conveneince of the snaps. Wow, I wouldn't want to be a shark in Alex's neck of the woods.

And the first-off of the new model? Ay carumba, no esta!? Was Mule beset by bandits while traversing the Darian Gap, or.... wait, there's a note here.... "Ned, Valovak holster will be on the next Mule, be patient, Alex". Dang.

One more small item here, let's see..... oh, nice, it's the "Valovak Companion" IWB magpouch proto. I'll be trying this little jewel out with my new belt and report back.

OK, you buncha complainers..... my misfortune is your gain. Last night as I was strolling by the Peruvian consulate minding my own business, two dark-suited toughs jumped me. They roughed me up pretty bad and when I was able to finally regain my composure and dust myself off, I found these pictures in my pocket along with a hastily scribble note: "Senior, you will please in the future refrain from NOT posting picures of our national hero's most excellent work in leather. Gracias". Hmm. One of the guys had the most beautiful double shoulder rig stuffed with two mint Mauser Broomhandles....
Peruvian Secret Service or just a couple of thugs hired by Alex himself? Guess we'll never know. Top, Commander holster and mag pouch, bottom, IWB for 5" 1911 with Dawson rail. The belt loops in the Commander rig look small because they are, the customer ordered 1 1/4 instead of the usual 1 1/2.

Ned, if you sent that Commander holster over here, I could arrange for forensic analysis. I could pull some connections in my country's certain circles, you know...Just be aware that the specimen gets destroyed during the testing...

I don't know how I managed it, but I've got my wife looking at the Nossar website for Xmas. Thanks for the pics, Ned. They might help. :D

Nyet, thanks for the offer YK...... I don't care if these guys don't get caught now, I toilet papered the consulate this evening and I feel pretty good about it.

jdberger, just keep in mind that all the mules have full schedules in Peru in December, what with pulling that sleigh around and all.

I think a Nossar holster for an LTW project might be kind of cool.

The Valovak has arrived and I've been wearing it for several days now. And ooooh! I'll get some pics up soon but it's crazy around here right now.... no, I mean really crazy, a house full of visitors from South America crazy.

Anyway, a short description-- deep dark brown horsehide with shark trim, snap loops spread apart about 3 1/2" per my request, makes this thing rock-solid stable. With my new belt, the gun is positively located. Gun goes in and out as if it were a Kydex holster!

Some pics for y'all. The old rig, "IWB III" and IWB mag pouch.....

And the Valovak IWB and Valovak Companion magpouch......

Very stable, the Valovaks, notice that's a 10-round mag in the magpouch. I know, I know, I said it too, jeez, an IWB magpouch with two snaps, seems big for a mag pouch. Well, yes, but once you put it on it's gone, basically.... no rocking, very comfy. Alex had a doubleIWB magpouch he was showing around at SHOT, one he uses down there......

We're still working out a few details on the design....

Sure wish Alex could move up here.......[/i]

how do you like wearing an iwb mag pouch?

i just cant seem to accept it? and if i did only with a single stacker. my reasoning being that it doesnt stick below the belt line in owb posisition.

I wore that IWB DOUBLE magouch around the show one day when Alex asked me to test it and see how comfortable it would be.
He put two mags in it(empty of course) and I proceeded to go about my normal excited daily routine.

Altough it looks large, once on the design is totally comfortable and I even forgot that I was wearing it after an hour. It contours the body perfectly. There is not a lot of "belt stretch" as I call it.

Impressive, since I have never liked IWB carriers. This one won me over. Either the one or two mag model.

My compliments to the chef!
