I think I was at the Louderthanwords booth a combined 2 hours today at the SHOT Show. Talk about one cool group of guys. I haven't met all the smiths yet, but the ones I did were awesome. Not everybody at the SHOT Show is this friendly, and it was really cool.

They were more than happy to show me all the various 1911's that they had there. It is one thing seeing them in pictures, it is another thing to actually hold them, while the builder points out all they they have done to it. You really can't appreciate the amount of detail that goes into these guns until you actually hold them.

CT Brian told me that his goal is for the customer to always find something new when they hold one of his guns. I believe it. I held his new Chopper for probably 20 minutes, and another one of his Full House Colt Government in his Shot Show preview thread for about 15. I now know why people are more than willing to wait 1-3-5 years for one of these guns. I'm now on Yost-Bonitz list and hopefully CT Brians, and it will be worth every minute I wait.

For someone who is fairly new to the 1911, it is an awesome opportunity to meet the best in the business - and to then have them take the time to answer all your questions. And what can I say about the guns. I need a dictionary to describe them, they are beyond words.

Scot,

All these guys are great guys, well maybe not Ted/Lew :P . It's amazing to walk around Shot Show and see how different gunmakers act towards people. A number of the so-called semi-custom people will barely have time for you. You go by LTW, they not only build better guns, and they are truly happy to talk to people and show them their wares. Great guns and really great people.

Well I'm envious that you went to SHOT and got to see all of the cool new blasters. I've only ever met Ted and some of the other guys at Yo-Bo because when I was in Arizona I stopped by the shop and Ted graciously let me hang out and check stuff out for a bit and look through the shop.

What a truly great group we have here.

...with envy. Scot, you (and anyone else from here who's found his way to Las Vegas for SHOT 2006) are one lucky dog!

I'm really looking forward to SHOT 2007 next year in my back yard (Orlando), and meeting more of the great people on this board.

Hope that all of you fortunate enough to make it out there have a wonderful time together!

Buck

I'm chomping at the bit to hit SHOT next year in Orlando since I'm just down the road in Port St. Lucie. A co-worker/long time friend and I have already told our current employer that we've already been invited (which we have) and we want the week off.

Well plan on going more than one day. I'm just about to head down there for my second day. It is huge!! I was there from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and I didn't even see half of it. EVERYBODY from the industry is there. and the cool thing is, you get to pick up all the guns and play with them as much as you want. I have four big bags and a backpack full of magazines, brochures, flyers, free stuff, etc. The main problem is that you come home with about 50 new guns that you now want to buy.

Scot, what you should know is that we enjoy meeting and getting to know our LTW family. BTW, gotcha covered on that CHOPPER....

I urge everyone to make plans for SHOT '07. It'll be a hoot.

Tim

I stopped by to see the Chopper and it was already gone from teh showcase (likely in someone's hands being drooled over). :? I'll stop by again today for another try.

I don't do alot of posting on sites but I feel compelled to do so in this case...

I was in the neighborhood and attended the first day of Shot Show and immediately made my way over to the LTW Booth. It is a simply incredible display of workmanship. The booth was very very busy, but I was lucky enough to talk with a few the guys for a few minutes -- a great bunch of class individuals.

Although I did not think it possible, I am even MORE confident that my Delta at Yost-Bonitz will exceed my expectaions.

The pics on this sight are great, but still do not do their work justice!
