The more complicated things get the quicker we want to get back to basics. Well designed things seem to always have a place. Short barreled Smith and Wesson revolvers and Alessi leather have been on the hips of thousands of law enforcement personnel over the years. Lou Alessi's APX has been an excellent concealment holster for the appendix position. As you draw the talon clip holds the holster in place and allows for a very fast draw. This gun has Spegel boot grips and you can sit down and not be uncomfortable with the gun.

Lou's ankle rigs and OWB rigs are as perfectly designed. This holster is relatively new to me as is the gun. Both will get quite a bit of wear.

Here are some pictures of the APX and a S&W 642.

Love those J-Frames, especially Centennials.
I wish I could shoot them better, but I still like 'em.
I have a pair of 442s that I really like; one is almost worn white from carrying. A 640 seems to be my "wedding gun". It's ridden in my pocket through a few weddings I've been in- including my own.
It's tradition, ya know.

Nice rig Steve. I had the same combo, until my wife stole the APX.

Steve- I have the mirror image gun and APX, down to a nice set of Spegel stocks, except that my 642 is older (lacks the internal lock) and the holster is left-handed (when will you other 85% of the population conform?)

I agree this is a great combo. This same setup is my everywhere gun. I just wish Lou would make a tuckable version of the APX, it will be summer here in Texas soon.

I didn't even know about the APX. That might be the way to go for the hot summers here in Vegas.
