This has been a good last week here on LTW. Don Williams posted a killer lookin' Commander not to mention the 'Navy Man's Gun' and Bob Rodgers has some fine work posted. Pictures can be a little time consuming but certainly worth it if you get a few that turn out.

Every smith has their trademark so to speak. Ted's is certainly the traditional blued Colt. On the Signature Grade jobs you will probably get handmade stocks like this Tiger striped walnut pair you see here. Plus all the other touches that come on a gun like this. Lots of time spent on details but with any of the smiths here, you get what you pay for.

It is hot here in Phoenix so nothing like hanging in the A/C and snappin a few. If time permits I might be able to get an LTW project up today. Hope thing find everyone well.

Enjoy the pics.

Wow! That is a piece of art. Now I'm gonna have to explain to my wife why I need to buy another gun and get it customized. She just doesn't understand why I can't leave them alone. :?

Really nice gun...
That gun looks elegant but classic, I like that in a 1911.

Steve.
I like to see those close up pics too, thanks for sharing.

Alex.

I'm glad it's hot and miserable there, forcing you inside with the camera.

It was only 115 today. Jason and I were shooting the other day and it was at least that hot. All things being equal it ain't all bad.

It has been bloody hot here too. The shop is does not have AC, and I have been hiding in the house. I don't like feeling like I am living on Phoenix. There is a place to go in the winter.

This is Yost. This is the type of gun that I used to look at and hope to build some day. What can I add that would not be a repeat of what has been said before? He is the best, and this is the best of the best.

Ted's trademark happens to be one of my favorites, deep blue and nice wood. This piece is rediculously awesome! It doesn't get any better than this. That checkering is flawless and handcut I presume. Fantastic work!

It's perfect, gorgeous and rendolent of 'hours at the bench'.
Sometimes a few of us come close, but.................
no one does the 'classic' 'elegant' better than Ted!

:D
