I just completed an overhaul on this SA Operator. Got all new internals plus a traction treatment and cosmetic surgery. :)

The finish is Enviro-Tech over Mil-Spec Parkerizing. The S&A magwell is scalloped to match the frontstrap. Tip o' the hat to Chuck Rogers.

The grips are temporary - just for photo purposes.

The rear sight is a Heinie fit to the existing Novak dovetail.

The beavertail grip safety is by McCormick.

Greider Precision long three hole trigger - edges softened.

That is about the best looking Operator I have ever seen. I really like the scallops - I'm dying to get my hand on a pisto that has them so I can see what they are like.

The finish look very nice. At first, I thought it was blueing. I have never heard of this finish before but I love they way it looks.

Howdy Bob,

very nice ride!

QUESTION?

was the original platform a full length dust cover? did you cut it back and ball cut the slide?

I have a LB Monolith HVY that I bought NIB and its a very accurate and reliable ride, just wished I would have thought it out better and gone with a standard config 1911.

been toying with the idea of getting the dust cover cut back and ball cuts on the slide. dont want to hurt the value, but its not a popular config to at least break even, so modifying and keeping is on my mind?

your opinions are greatly appreciated

I really like the way you dehorned all sharp edges on the slide and beveled the bottom. I have seen this on several guns now and am thinking of doing it on my Wilson Combat Professional. I performed a little dehorning on mine before sending the gun back to Wilson to have the whole slide beadblasted to match the frame. I wish I had done more after seeing this gun.

That is one beautiful Operator.

The metal work, which is my favorite feature on a custom 1911, is incredible.

Makes mine look like a Llama now.

Wow! That dehorn is just one of a bazillion details that is perfectly done. I am in awe! Seeing this gun made my day.
