I've been talking about them, and the owner just sent me a few quick pics of them so I figured I would put a few up.

More to come later, I'll be posting on my website once I get the program figured out 100% and see my webmaster so I can take over the "ownership" of the domain.

Enjoy,
Bob

Unfortunatly, those don't belong to me. They have found their way back to their owner in Nevada, good for him, sad on my part...I was growing quite fond of them.

I don't want to steal too much of his thunder, so I will let him post more pictures and tell you all about them since they belong to him.

Thanks for looking,
Bob

“Ebony and Ivory”

We started this project out with the Blue Delta and shortly after I was able to find a SS one and asked Bob what he thought about doing a pair. He was up for the challenge and after significant pleadings with the “better half” here is the end result. The idea came together to make “reverse twins” and I think they turned out great. Bob’s attention to detail and workmanship are outstanding and plus he is just a real “swell” guy in the best sense of the word. Alright enough about that, here is what was done to the best of my recollection:

Novak Bar-Dot rear sight
Custom made hand serrated front sight with insert done at tool tech
Flat top and “reverse” diamond serrate top of slide
Ball Cuts in the Slide
Kreiger Accu-Rails
High polish Flats (555) on the blue Delta and (500) on the SS one
Replace all parts with tool steel parts and fire control parts replaces with C&S
Trigger is beauuuuuuutiful and right where I like them at 4 lb
Kart Match barrel and bushing
Full length 2-piece guide rod
Brown GS
Perfect 30 lpi checkering on FS and MSH
Heinie Magwells
Custom fit grips “Ebony and Ivory” (by Bob) – no easy task I assure you
There is more but that is all I can think of now. I will edit as I remember things.

Not sure what else to say. They speak for themselves!

The blotch below the sight here is a Cloud  how is that for polish!
Keep in mind these targets were for grouping only not for POA/POI which is dead on BTW!

Bob, you should be very proud of your work. Those guns are very nicely done. I don't doubt that every poster here would love to own one of those two guns.

bp, I have never been a fan of the Delta Elite but those are very nice guns that you have. I hope you enjoy them.

Those look great Bob! I have been hearing about these two for 6 months or so, I'm looking forward to getting to shoot them (enough excuses Brett we need to go shooting!).

Bob does great work and is a good guy. Friendly, smart, with no ego or attitude - just a burning desire to keep improving and be the best smith he can.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. The only credit I can take is for simply funding the project. 8) Bob, you did a terrific job and should be very proud. Getting complements like you have around here means a lot considering these guys are simply the best of the best, true masters all of them!

Steve S. I accidently deleted all of the emails you sent. I wanted to keep the ones regarding the pistol work but I got trigger happy.

My apologies, can you possibly send me another email so I can get busy on the quote?

I hope you read this, I'll be posting this over other forums.

Take care, thanks for all the kind words, and thanks for looking.

Bob

I am glad you all have gotten as much enjoyment out of looking at these as I have looking at some of your posts. I think half the fun of 1911's and this page is looking to see what others have done and then incorporating the things you like into your own build. It is also nice to be able to look at other peoples finished projects while you are saving for or waiting for your own to be completed. Thanks again for all the kind comments.

I have seen this pair posted a couple places and I wanted to say to both the owner and the master who did the construction, very nice. I would like to have a set similar to that constructed myself someday. Thanks for shareing.

The only thing better than a custom Delta, is TWO custom Deltas!

Beautiful work on both!
