It is my sad duty to inform everyone that Chip Brezee, Witherspoon to everyone here, died today. He had cancer.

Chip was my best friend and my partner at Bowling Green Police Dept. I never met a finer officer or investigator in my years. I never had a more caring or loving friend than Chip.

He leaves behind a wife Betty and a son, Justin who is in college.

Please say a prayer for him and the family.

Thank you,

Officer Al Shear
Bowling Green Police Dept.

Sad news indeed, Al.

We'd just heard of Chip's condition, and were holding hope for him.

My thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with his loved ones.

I also had the deepest honor of knowing Chip Brezee as a friend, a mentor, and a co-worker. I can honestly say that the world was a better place because of Chip, and I will sorely miss him! To Mark, Ted and all the others at LTW.....thank you for listening to my ideas, and I wish I could convey to you the love and respect that Chip had for the members of this forum.

Al & JR, I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend and it seems a fine man. Take with you the blessing that you had the opportunity to know him and that a part of him will always be with you.

Take care.

I never met him, only knowing him from conversations here.
That's very sad news, I had no idea. But he's OK now. Rest peacefully, friend.

I talked and dealt with Chip over the years on quite a few occasions. He was always the nicest man to deal with, and ufortunately, I never got to meet him in person. Our prayers are with his family and friends at this time. Chip will be missed.

I visited with Chip a few times via this forum and via email. Like Don, I never got to meet him.

He always seemed a gentleman and his input here and elsewhere will no doubt be missed.

My prayers and heartfelt sympathy go out out to his family and friends.

I "met" Chip via a couple of Nossar holster sales. A gent he was. To those of you that were his close friends, lucky you to have known him and to have been his friend. To you and especially to Chip's family, my condolences.

Al, I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your best friend. Like many here, we'd traded notes on LTW, but I never had the pleasure of meeting him.

I'll say a prayer for him, and for his family.

Al,

I've already sent you a message I know..but I did want to try and convey a sentiment in public.

I've seen the passing of too many good men this year and with the holidays fast approaching. I will be raising a glass to absent friends, all of them will be missed and not forgotten.

Jim

I thought I would wait until now to thank everyone for their kindness because if I did it any earlier I would not know what to say and could not get through it without breaking down.

So thank you all for the condolencses. Sometimes I feel dying is the easy part. Those of us left behind have the hard part of picking up the pieces and carrying on without the ones we love. Chip was and will always be my best friend, my confidant, my now silent partner looking over my shoulder. I learned so much from him about the job, about life, about friendship.

I never met anyone who knew so many people either. When he waived at someone from the unit, I thought it was just pleasantries. Oh no, he would call out each and every person by name!

He was the finest cop I ever knew. The best investigator I ever met. The finest example of humanity I have known.

I salute you Chip. I miss you brother!

Al, I lost one of my best friends last year and it isn't easy. Just be grateful for the memories. My thoughts are to you and his family. I would have like to have met him.

Oh man... I just saw this post and I am SHOCKED. I've reached to honor of making grips for this fine gentleman's guns.

I've exchanged e mails with Chip often, talking about our families, sending pics to eachother. He has always supported my work with his kind comments on the boards.

I'm terribely sorry for his lost.

RIP My Friend.

Hakan...I'm sure that Al will agree with e on this. As another co-worker and friend of Chip's I can say he was very fond not only of your work, but of you personally. He was constantly showing me the beautiful grips you made for him, and taking me online to show me more of your work. Chip was a gentleman of the highest calibre, and touched the lives of all who met him!
