This past summer, my wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. I had planned to buy her a very nice, sparkly rock with a gold device to attach it to her finger. She had other plans... A few months later, the new front porch she wanted was done, and I had written a couple of checks that made that damn diamond look cheap! Oh well... she did a nice job of making it up to me!

My lovely bride, knowing that a nice pistol would mean as much as anything she could give me, purchased a Colt Commander and told me to call somebody who would build something nice out of it. Deb and I talked over the specs of the gun quite a bit, and then I called my friend Tim Cronin at Yost-Bonitz.

Tim did an outstanding job on this one. We wanted something similar to a 1* Elite, and used those specs as a starting point. We changed the rear sight to a Heinie unit, added some presentation grade Spegel grips, french borders and a serrated slide rear, complete with a spare serrated extractor. Tim added a little extra class, by giving the slide flats a polish job that has to be seen to be truly appreciated.

Enjoy the pictures!

The gold line front sight has become a "must have" on my 1911s:

I want to thank Tim for his craftsmanship on this very special gun. Tim's built me quite a few guns, but none quite as special as this one.

Lastly, I want to thank the most wonderful girl in the world. My beautiful wife Deb. Thanks for 20 years of being my very best friend. I love you.

It would be really embarrasing to show you guys my picture from twenty years ago. Therefore, I'll show you Deb's!

Very nice!
Wow! Only ten more years and my wife will get me one too? I was not aware of that. Cool.

C'mon, let's see your wedding pics.
Ruffled shirt?

Yup. Feel free to use this to set precedence. Obviously, at 20 years a fine custom is the appropriate gift!

Being a single guy, I can only hope to settle with someone like you have. Congratulations on 20 years and a fine blaster.
