I just finished the rebuild and refinish on a hi-cap, ported Para for Tim Sylvia...the Heavywieght Champion of the Octagon Ring. Keep in mind I stand 5'9" on a good day and he is slouching in this photo.

Image

Cylinder and Slide hammer and sear, Hand Checkered the mainspring housing, serrated the rear of the slide, Bomar rear sight, my custom made front sight, bead blast blue, and some other minor work...

I should have gotten a before picture... it was horrible when it showed up. He seemed pretty happy with it when it was all said and done.

A big thanks to RB Precision for the introduction to Tim and all the extra effort for me in 2006. Here's to another good year for 2007.

Take care,
Bob

Sylvia is a beast inside the octagon but I have heard from people that have met him that he is a great guy. I'd bet that the Para disappears in his hands when he presents it to the target.

I should have put that in my post. He is one of the nicest people to talk to...he was showing us pictures of his hunts and talking like a regular guy the night I met him. He is a well rounded - gun nut - nice guy. However, if you plan on taking his belt from him...he isn't so nice.

Very cool, I have seen him fight and he is something else. Nice to see he is a 1911 guy. Thanks for the post.

yes he ia one tough guy! I saw one fight a few years ago that he lost due to a broken arm due to a submission hold.Slo-mo replay showed his foreaem bend the WRONG way in the middle. He swore it wasnt broken, and was ready to continue the fight! Now that ,is a BAD ASS!!!

Just saw the interview with Tim on "Inside the UFC", showed a quick clip of him shooting what looked like a .338 Sniper rig, and some sort of AR-15 set up. His stock went way up with me after I saw that, and once again after seeing this post.

Hes definitely a tough dude, saw him get his arm SNAPPED when fighting Frank Meir, and he never tapped or flinched.....
