Hello all-

After talking with Jim Keeney about custom pistols and his gunsmith, I decided to send off one of my favorites to get a little work done. The gun has just been shot so excuse the powder residue and such!

-Cut and crown barrel flush to slide
-Install Novak sights
-Bob and reshape hammer
-Trigger job (unbelievable!!!)
-Polish flats/matte rounds and reblue
-Reliability tuning

This is my first Sams Custom and I am super happy about the way it turned out. Even though it was a moderate project, every detail is done perfectly. Many of my firearms will be worked on by Dave Sams in the future.

Thanks for looking!

Ross

Beautiful! Nice grips. Can you do a closeup on them? What is the logo? It is hard to make out.

Hello-

Thank you for the nice comments. The trigger is much smoother in double action and lighter in single action than the stock trigger. The CZ has a certain "spongy" feel due to the design of the action which Dave has minimized.

The grips are or were offered by ghostholsters.com and are made of cocobolo. They are nice and slim, well finished, and inexpensive at $40! Here is the link to purchase these particular grips:

The logo you see is indeed the CZUB symbol.

Thanks for your interest!

Ross,

Good to know you finally have one of your guns back. I took a very quick look at it last time I was at Dave's shop, and I liked it a lot. Simple but effective. There isn't much you can really do with a CZ without going overboard, but, you and Dave decided on some good upgrades. The trigger on yours is very nice, indeed. Maybe I can get my paws on the Pre-B he has... Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I believe you have a commercial Colt you need to take to him as well. Now THAT would be something.

Great CZ. Great gunsmith. Happy shooting.

~Jim Keeney
