Hi all,
Haven't been posting here for a while. I have been way too busy with life, getting a new shop building outfitted and running, and just working on pistols. Just thought I would post this one here as it is something really a bit different. It is based on the excellent Caspian XR kits pus some adds.
EGW ignition set
STI ti strut
Greider medium trigger
MARS lanyard loop mag well
22 LPI curved serrations on top of the slide
10-8 sights drilled for Trijicons
VZ John's Gatorbacks
Ed Brown mag release
Ed Brown ambi safety
Storm Lake barrel
carbonized rails for gall prevention
Front strap serrations removed and 25 LPI CNC checkering by EGW
4.5 lb trigger pull (of course it's crisp:) )
Underside of slide release serrated at 40 LPI
Rear of slide serrated at 40 LPI to match 10-8 serrations
Rear of slide slightly flattened for better target picture
60 degree target barrel crown
and so on.....here are the pics. Hope to have some more time to just come over and hang out now that things are slowing down a bit!:grumble:

Jess

Thanks. I have built and sold 5 of these now for customers over the last year or so. They have all been solid as a vault and no hiccups whatsoever. This one came back from a Sgt on a SWAT team for a work over and he shot it quite a bit before this last workover. I have found that any of the Caspian externals and especially the XR to be extremely reliable. Like I said, I have several of them out there getting pounded in service type situations and they just run and run and run. There are a couple of small tricks that I do to them to make them feed and eject more reliably, but nothing that would keep them from working without doing the mods. I would be happy to share with anyone the tricks that I use on the XRs when building them if someone is going to give one a go. Like I said, I have a half a dozen of them out there in regular service and the feedback has been outstanding.

Jess

Very nice.
Glad to hear the shop is getting set up and things must be going OK for you.
