Here is an absolutely stunning Delta that I just received back from Yost-Bonitz Custom. This was intended to be gift to my father...unfortunately, he passed away just before I was able to present it to him. As a result, this Delta will be coming up for sale on this site (just as soon as I aquire the necessary 10 posts) in the very near future. The list of modifications performed by Mr. Yost are simply too many to include here. Credit to Jason for the outstanding photography:

Dad would have loved it. Thanks again to everyone at Yost-Bonitz Custom for their incredible work. A special thanks to Jason for answering all the e-mails and for the great photos!

Shades, I'm sorry for the loss of your father, and I'm sure he would have been very pleased with that pistol....it is STUNNING!! I would give ANYTHING to have a Yost Delta! Very beautiful!

Sorry to hear about your dad. Was he a big 10mm fan?

Sorry to hear about your father. I'm sure he would have loved it, but I'm guessing he loved you more than any gun.

That is a beautiful pistol. It looks like the details were well planned and executed, making it pretty snazzy without overdoing it in any way whatsoever. I'd love to have it, but don't see how. Thanks for the notice, though. Maybe I should sell a pile of stuff!

Yeah -- he shot our neighbor's Delta and loved it...said he would love to have one.

And thanks to all for the kind words. I'm always amazed at the quality of folks on the LTW site.

So did you give the Yost gang free will or did you have specific requests that you thought you dad would like?

I had some specific requests that I knew my Dad would like. Flawless function is one example...another would be more cosmetic -- he loved quality checkering, serrated slide tops, etc. The "Yost gang" really did an amzing job.

That is certainly a beautiful gun. I absolutely love Deltas a the 10mm. Ted and the guys did a damn fine job. I'd bet your dad is looking down quite proudly at you and the gesture of that gun thinking, "I raised a good one." You should be proud.

I really like the MSH lanyard loop. Was this a request of yours and why?

Truly sorry to learn of your loss. However, I’m sure he’d be proud of what you did for him. The Delta, WHOA, that is gorgeous!! What can be better than a 10mm Colt done by the master? Thanks for sharing.

That was actually a request of my Dad -- he always liked that feature from the original WW1 type 1911s. It turned out great.

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing. This pistol immediately makes me think of my uncle who passed away in 1999. He was a "surprise" for my grandparents, and was actually 24 years younger than my mother and so he was closer in age to me and my brother than his siblings. Growing up he was more akin to an older brother to us, than an uncle. He was the one who got my brother and I into guns in the first place as it was his first love. His favorite gun out of all that he owned was a stainless 10mm Delta Elite. Best of luck on the sale. Every time I see a Customized Delta Elite on this site I wish Jonathan was still here so I could have it done for him. I'm sure your dad would've been elated with the gun, as well as touched by your thoughtfulness.

Rob

Did you sell this yet?

I have been thinking about your situation since reading your first post, and the first thing that always comes to mind is for you to keep it and pass it down to the kids. After all, it really is "Grandpa's Delta". He never had the pleasure of using it, but you had the sentiment to build it for HIM.

Just my thoughts.....

Take care,

John

I know this is an older thread, but I just had to revive it one more time.
Damn, that is beautiful work! Whoever has this piece has my complete envy.
I am hoping to find a stainless non enhanced Delta Elite to send to Ted for the same or similar mods.
Of course I want to give Ted full artistic license as well!
