Well, I am a big 9MM fan (45 ACP as well) and that gun is very hot. Lots of neat things going on with that gun. Someone is going to be very happy.

Very, Very Kewl. 8)

Did the customer request the specific design on the flat top/frontstrap/msh? Is it a symbolic design, or just a design that may be somewhat functional?

Fantastic work. I want one on my hip. :D

The frontstrap & mainspring housing treatment is a new design I've been developing (remember - ya saw it on LTW first!). I call it the Mirage.

Form follows function, and in this case works both aesthetically and ergonamically. From a draw, the hand slides easily up the frame. Then, as your grip tightens, the more it locks to a nonshifting hold - both vertically & horizontally.

Absolutely beautiful! I carry a customized Colt Combat Commander 1911 9mm. The barrel crown looks deeper than I'm accustomed to. Any advantages?

Tim,
You are posting your work on the wrong site again. Sotheby's is holding an auction of "Important 20th Century Design" in New York on June 19. They are also holding an auction on Contemorary Art in London on June 21. You still have time to get in the catalog.

Some people have been waiting decades to acquire the perfect peice of art. With you it's only 5 years.

Thank you for continuing to post on the wrong site.

Just a bit more crown protection in the event of clumbsyness or a serious social encounter that goes south.

Plus (I think) it looks kind of neat.

Two small questions on parts shown on this gun:

1- Whose beavertail did you use (or start with) ?

2- Whose recoil spring plug ?

Thanks.

The machine work on the slide is brilliant. I also really like the X-pattern grip-surface enhancements on the front and back straps ... perfect execution. Nice sight work too. Thanks for sharing.

Simply wow! Everytime I come here I am amazed at the craftsmanship being performed. The smiths continue to expand the art and design amazingly beautiful pistols. Keep up the good work.

CT,
One thing about your guns....everything works together. You certainly have an eye for making it all come together. This one is phenomenol. That front strap treatment looks great.

That is perfection right there, and the front strap, main spring housing, and flattened top of the slide with matching skip serrations is just bad ass. What does it take to make sure it all comes out even, besides a lot of time.

P.S. Those grips are sweet as all hell as well, who made those and where can I get a set.

A very nice piece. The fine detail is very, evident and the attention to detail is more evident.

One of the reasons, well the primary reason I am in this business I can see a craftsmanship like that as it passes through my retail operation. :)

Second reason is every year or two I earn enough to own one. :D

Again, a very, very, fine piece of craftsmanship

Dunno. They were supplied by the customer. Pretty though, aren't they.

Tim just has an amazing way of taking the ordinary and making it "his" in a phenomenal way. I have a similar Colt base pistol in the safe...hard to see it turning into THAT, but somehow Tim does it.

FS and MSH look really sweet!
