It's not everyday that you're fortunate enough to get the call to customize a big letter Series '70 as an instant heirloom wedding present from a Father to his Son. I was truly delighted to get the opportunity to build this one. It started life as my Peerless Package and was then modified from there. The start of it all was a weld up and recut job on the frame rails to allow a tight, yet free-running fit. The it was followed by fitting up a Kart barrel with an H-D logo bushing & plug set.
The rest of the list ran like this:

Novak Lo-Mount sights with 14k gold bead in the front sight
Top strap flattened, serrated 40 lpi and bordered with radiused cuts
Ejection port lowered and fluted
Ball Cuts and French borders over a light 45 degree lower border
EGW FP stop, HD extractor & slide stop
Yo-Bo ignition set with Heinie LW long solid trigger
CMC beavertail mated to a Ed Brown wide extended safety, recut to medium contour
Legacy Custom MSH checkered 25 lpi and mated to a Briley mag well
Front strap high cut and checkered 25 lpi
Elephant ivory grips -w- Colt medallions
Finished in IonBond DLC with flats polished to 1200 grit & rounds blasted with aluminum oxide for maximum contrast

Here are a few pictures.

I'm pretty sure I know who that one that one belongs to and one thing is for sure he is going to be thrilled and I'm officially jealous. 8)

That is a stunning piece of art my friend... your work is always remarkable and you never disappoint.

Clean guns with Ion Bond and polished flat sides.. Beginning to become a Harrison trademark it seems!

Is the finish oiled in those pictures?

Outstanding build John! I especially like the light 45 degree lower border and Briley magwell, cant say enough about how that lighter border looks so much cleaner than the others I see - very 'classy'. Your work is amazing Sir, I love the IonBond with polished flats - WOW!

Ditto the others' remarks, John. That's a fine build ... and the polished flats with IonBond turned out fantastic. It's the best of both worlds ... a bullet-proof finish with the luster of polished blue.

What better gift could a father hand over to his son on that special day, something the son needs to help protect the family for a lifetime and when the comes if he is so lucky enough hand down to his son on his day. Crafted beautifully.

Thanks for all your kind comments. I was having problems with getting good pictures in the lighting available, so I wiped down the pistol pretty thoroughly before I took the pictures. In doing so, I created a couple of blotchy places that aren't there when you see the pistol in person. Also there are spots where I see the oil creeping out of joints.

Damn that is a fine piece of work. I kinda feel sorry for the owner. Ya gotta get married to get a pistola like that? Hmmmm. :P

John,

Great looking gun. Did you know that you missed my wedding about 10 years ago?

Best,

Ray

Somebody is a lucky son to own this work of art.

All I got for my wedding present was a toaster, and she took it after the divorce.
