Everyone knows by now (myself above anyone) that I haven't posted pics of my work very often as the quality of the photos has been, shall we say rather poor. I'll try to rectify that in future. Anyway, this is the gun I made for SHOT this year and got it back from blueing 2 days prior to the show so no time was available. Hopefully these pics are somewhat better than my previous efforts.

That's awesome. I love the muzzle crown and the seamless beavertail fit.

I had this one out of the case several times to look at all the cool features that Don dreamed up. Look close and the pics and you'll be amazed at all the little details that are fresh things like his use of a small ball mill cut to do his lower slide border and the three lines in the trigger. Cool stuff all around and if I'm not speaking out of turn, this one was available  8)

Don give us the details. Especially that rear sight with the Ying and Yang this way cool - who makes it?

+1 on rear--
Is that a morris customs retro? He uses ying/yang quite often.
I love the miniball cuts on the slide...well...flutes.
Jaw dropping.
I'd love the rig with a SDM gold bead front.
Love the lines on not just the trigger, but the hammer.
The top border on the slide flat is haunting-- classic, but...not. Might be the pics, but you'd swear it gets deeper the further down muzzle.
Superb.

Thats friggin beautiful! I hope to read more details!

Could we possibly get a photo of the rear? I mean from the rear of the gun?

The rear site face looks interesting, but you really can't see it very well from the side angle. I love the magwell!

Don

I love what you did to the hammer - those deep borders on top/bottom of the slide look beautiful and unique!

Great job! Wow!

Thank you all for the kind words. The rear sight is indeed a Morris. Mark was kind enough to send me one to try when I called to order one of his mag wells for another build on a Delta I'm currrently doing. I did fiddle with it a bit though. All of us in LTW are constantly challenged by each other trying to do something a bit different, but we see ideas one person has done and that gives us another idea and........... Amazing we're still able to come up with different ideas on a gun that's almost 100 years old! Anyway, I wanted to try to do some different things and rather than the bevel on the bottom of the slide I wondered about a concave cut. Tried this out on a scrap slide I had and played with the dimensions till I liked the look. The topside border is just a different way of breaking that area up rather than the "French" (or American border per Tim Brian) now commonly seen. The rest was trying to tie it all together.

Here's a photo of the rear (sorry it's not a very good shot and is canted a bit).
Image

The rest of it: Baer frame, Caspian slide, Schuemann Classic barrel, STI hammer, Heinie mag well, Legacy mainspring housing. Checkering at 25 LPI
Thanks again,
