Of the guns I brought to the SHOT show, this one generated the most interest.
The owner and myself thinks it needs a better name than 'The Blue Gun'.
Any ideas?
:)

How about the drool bucket, as that is what one needs after looking at it. If I might ask is there a practical reason why you milled an angle in the dustcover and recoil plug?

Pete,
I'm getting older and wider...........
Seems IWB holsters tend to close up on me when I remove the gun.
The angled and narrowed slide nose is an assist in getting the darn thing back in there!

I'd be happy to call it 'Mine'

ETA one quick question, I like the flat/dull finish but why the highly polished bushing & plug?

Is that a phosphate finish? The metal flitz in the paint didn't show up in earlier pics, but now...wow.
I love the milling on the sight, but the chrome on the bushing and plug...how about Edsel?
j/k
In all seriousness-- there's just so many genre's blended into the gun it's hard to attribute a real name-- the fluting, finish, and chrome has got the right cyber-ninja technocratic look, but the lines, highpower cuts, and knurling all Harken back to your earlier, "classic" style--
Blue Dream?
It's like a baby blue Caddie had a baby with Ned's Ducati-- all it needs is the tail fins. And I mean it-- the gun's all hotrod with the elegance of a 60grand luxury sedan.
Although, there you go-- there's such a hot and cold mix of "new school" and "old school," it's the new hotness: flaming icicle.
Alright, I've gotta stop before someone smacks me for all the bad jokes-- besides, my keyboard's shortin' out from the slobber.

AFSilverado,
I don't suspect many folks will be looking at the muzzle.........
and if they are.......I guess it will be looking at them.

What about the "Midnight Express"?

- because that pistol looks like it means business and would ward off any intruders in the darkness.

Mr. Rogers, I've got to ask you this, unless it is a trade secret: what prevents recoil plug from rotating and coming out of alignment from beveled plug channel opening? Is recoil spring pressure enough?

I've been thinking of creating a "leading edge" on 1911 for ease of reholstering for some time now. I won't take any credit for creativity: my, and everybody else's, H&K P7M8 has front edges of the slide beveled forward for the same purpose. Your execution adds another dimension to it, literally and figuratively.

No suggestions for the name, perhaps, is should remain Nameless :)

If I am not mistaken that is an EGW bushing and recoil plug. They are machined in such a way that they lock together and it is impossible for the plug to rotate.

Call it whatever you want. I think it's too cool for words to adequately describe.

Is that a Chen MSH?

The name that popped into my head as soon as I saw the gun was "Tron." From the (at the time) cutting edge Sci-Fi movie of the same name.

Very cool blaster.

As far as I am concerned it should be called Artistry in Grey or Blue, whichever you prefer. You've done it again Chuck.

That is the best looking, " modern" rendition of the 1911 I have ever seen. Period.

I had the pleasure of handling some of Chuck's work this summer at Gunsite. it was superlative.
Chuck was also a real gentleman in delivering the pistol to a student in my class and sticking around to make sure that it could be test fired in case there was any issue. Not suprisingly, there was no issue and the student went on to shoot ragged holes and take second in the shootoff in a very competitive class.

That was my first thought, too.

Or...
-Is it kinda gray-looking? Gray + Groovy = Gravy. And who doesn't like gravy?

With the high polish bushing and those ball cuts on the slide, it definitely has a retro American car look to it. Can't think of a name, but it sure is a work of art.
