After very careful consideration I have decided I need to close my waiting list for an indefinite period. I don't want to say indefinitely because to me that sounds like forever and this will not be forever. It is simply for an as-yet undetermined amount of time. It will be more than six months.

I don't want to have a waiting list to get on the waiting list so.... please don't ask.

Right now I'm at about 5 years and I am just kinda liking the idea of whittling that down just a bit. Plus, I have a lot of irons in the fire, with products on the market and a few more coming, training season coming up, and writing the occasional article. Working on the guns is the most satisfying part of what I do, so don't anybody go thinking I'm slacking off on that, not in the least.

Stay tuned. When I open it back up I'll give maybe a couple weeks' notice.

I hope all the new products are up and running soon, I need to get a drill jig (plunger tube) from you when they are available. Best of luck, in all your doing.

They say the waiting period makes the mark of a good smith-- and when one has to simply pull a shut-in (to borrow a Brit term) and let to current crowd whittle down-- It gives folks who have a current order to brag about:
"I had Ned work on this during that period when he had to stop taking in fresh orders between '08-__."
Adds to the value and the anticipation of us in the bleachers.
Never mind those of us who're going to need those parts and tools.

Just give us a heads up if you decide to hide golden tickets for tours through your shop.

Having to do what you intend to do should show your current list of clients that you truly value their appriciation for a fine custom weapon. One can only take on so much and still be able to focus on the task at hand. Kudo's to you, for you making a proper decision for the benefit of you customers.

When he builds the boarding pistol especially-- gonna have to get him an eyepatch and parrot for that rig-- still, would you still consider it a hogleg, or pegleg?
Whatever the case, Nedley's still the Wonka of the pistol field.

I plan on buying all the drinks at SHOT 2009 - I expect to be only a few months out after that

Five years! Wow. The first gun I got from you I got back in six weeks for a complete build from components. Amazing how things can snowball.
