After a phonecall with Mr. Heinie, it looks like I'll be building one of the giveaway guns for the Single Stack Classic shoot in Illinois. I'm excited to be a part of this event though I have to check my schedule to make sure I can attend the shoot. School trumps pistols, and the shoot is twords the end of my semester though I'm sure I can take a Saturday morning off to shoot the match.

I want to thank Mr. Heinie for thinking about me and Dave Williams from the Springfield Custom shop for his part in helping to make this happen. I have quite a few ideas for this pistol.

Are any of the LTW patrons going to be at the shoot?

Bob

I'll be there Bob and I'ld like to meet you. You talked to me years ago when you worked at Rock River Arms. Don't know if you built my Limited. It's a great 1911. I always shoot on Fridays so I can watch the Super Squad on Saturday and hopefully learn something. Let me know when you'll be there and I'll buy you a beer.

Congrats! That's an incredible opportunity and I know you're going to turn out something incredible. Hope you can share pics before you give it over for the shoot.

This will be my 3rd consecutive year there Bob. I can't wait to see what you've got for us there.

Reminder, I'll be at the match this weekend should you want to call and meet up at the shoot or afterward.

Take care,
Bob

Bob, How about an update?

Enquiring minds want to know - who won the guns?

Did you get to meet Richard Heinie? How about Stan Chen and Ned Christianson?

Who was minding the pistolsmithing world if all four of you guys were at the match

I wasn't entirely happy about the whole situation, but it wasn't my match to run. I would have thought the pistols would have been on display durring the match so people could see what they were shooting for. I'm not mad, just a little disappointed - but oh well. I had fun building the gun.

The other disappointing aspect was the person that won my gun wasn't even there at the match durring the awards. I hope he emails or calls when he gets it, I'm interested in seeing how much he likes it.

I got a chance to see Ned, Stan, and Richard, and it was great to talk to them as well.

Who was watching the benches while we were there? There was plenty of filing and dremmeling done while we were horsing around - that I'm sure of.

Take care,
Bob
