Okay guys, I know it ain't custom in that Ted, Jason, or John haven't done a lot of magic! However, I have been testing the TRP and I am very very impressed. It is tight, finished very well, and 100% reliable. Besides all that, it is accurate.

Everything you need, checkered front strap (20 LPI) ambi safety, mag well, beavertail, 4.5 lb trigger, and tritium Novaks. All on a national match frame. Springfield barrels are hammer forged and are all match grade. This one sure ran!

My only gripe was the full length recoil spring guide. It went away in a hurry. The Armory Kote is as good as Black T and seems to be a little harder so it wears better. Notice that the G-10 stocks have a relief cut to help reach the magazine release.

Range time was fun but as is the case, my budget controlled the round count. The new Tomahawk light from First-Light USA is really cool. Look it up when you have time.

Bench resting at 25 yards really told us what the TRP could do.

This is a five shot group (1 1/4" extreme spread) at an honest 25 yards! Really and I have witnesses. The gun, out of the box, will out shoot most shooters.

I have found the same to be true of my TRP in Armory Coat too. I also replaced the two piece recoil spring guide rod with regular GI type parts and couldn't be happier. These may be production guns, but they do seem to receive extra attention and I wouldn't be surprised if they are not used as test examples from Springfield's Production People to see who could work on the Professionals. I have a Professional on order and hope it's like my TRP and more.

Here's a test target from the bench of a best three of five at 25 yards. Great 1911 and Thanks to Dave I have a Braveheart to carry it in.

For a production pistol, I really like the TRP. There are several guys out here I train with that have them and run them hard. They have never had a problem. My only dislike is the 20 lpi machine checkering. It is incredibly sharp.

Funny you should mention it, but I looked at a used TRP at a gunshop today. It was beat on the outside (uniformed cop carry piece), but inside it was pristine. I made an offer on it, but it seems that the owner thought he was going to get all of his money out of a used, beat gun. So I bought a Defender instead. Hey, once you take your money out, you have to spend it on something, right?

The only thing I didn't like on the TRP was the blocky shape of the dust cover. Does anybody know if it could be reduced and be more, errrr, Coltish?
