I'm just not feelin' it. I'll bet it would be fun, though.

Now, if someone has a magic wand that could be waved over a BHP .40 to convert it to 10mm without blowing the frame apart, I'd be all over it! :)

The one that I handled was awesome. I didn't shoot it, but the work was top shelf.

I had several opportunities, just did not take the time to take either for a drive. There are several folks, however, who have trigger time on both the prototype as well as the first one transferred. Now, if a P220st in 9x23 were available then I would be really motivated to take it for a drive.

I wonder why Sig quickly dropped the 38 Super out of the P220. Didn't they make that for a short time?

I am not sure how "quickly" the .38 Super was dropped. As I understand it, SIG produced P220's imported as Browning BDA's in the early '80s and I had a new in box model which was date coded at 1998, if I recall correctly. That seems like a substantial run, in my opinion. As it relates to its demise, I am not sure the issue was with the pistol as much as the cartridge/pistol combination not working with SIG SAUER's customer base in North America.

In case your comment is directed at the integrity of the P220 to handle something other than .45 ACP or 9mm, please understand that the conversion is only available on P220ST models. The conversion is not/will not be available for aluminum frame pistols, regardless if they have a stainless or carbon slide.

FWIW and respectfully submitted.

I saw a beautiful Sig 220 38Super in what the dealer said was factory nickel finish. He wanted a lot for it and finally got his asking price. Never saw another one in 38Super.

The standard models are out there but they do take some diligence in locating them. I have a friend who collects them. Mine went to a retired LEO who had always wanted one which made his day.

The difficulty with "factory" nickel is being able to verify it through SIG SAUER. The again, if there is a box with matching serial numbers and indicating nickel then it is relatively easy, as long as the box has not be tampered with.
